“Can't wait to go back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2011

My bf took me to stay at that Mile High Inn for Valentines day. I loved staying here. Not only was it comfortable and cozy, the view was beautiful. We were right in the middle of town which was perfect. The food in the restaurant was delicious as well. I enjoyed that there was no television in the room. Great customer service. Cant wait to go back.

“An absolute pleasure”

From check in to check out we were made to feel at home. Liz is a pure pleasure to deal with and my GF and I really enjoyed our time at the Inn. The pros would be location and the fact that you have a restaurant/bar right below you makes it easy to enjoy yourself. The bed was very comfortable, we slept in the "Pillow Talk" room. I also enjoyed the breakfast which was very tasty. The night we stayed they had Karaoke which really was quite entertaining. The cons would be me nit-picking a bit. But I guess the doors not staying closed because they are rigged to not close unless you lock with a key is a pain. Also if you decide to call it an early night it may be a bit loud because of the bar downstairs, a double edged sword, although they do shut the loud music down at a reasonable hour.
Overall you cannot go wrong with this B&B and also we did not see any ghosts.

“BAD CHOICE”

In confirmation email, was told to go to the restaurant to check in. Upon entering the restaurant, not even being acknowledged, finally had to tell the guy we wanted to check into our room. We asked about parking. He said, gruffily, "anywhere but a red zone. We've never been to Jerome before. I didn't know if there was parking in the back or whatever. Anyway, after moving our car and lucking out finding a spot in front of the place, we proceeded to check in. He had trouble with our credit card and yelled "goddammit" - "sorry". Then when he gave us the keys, he said "the doors are self-locking, so don't lock the keys in your room. There's no one on site and no one will come and you'll have to spend the night in your car."
We proceeded up the stairs to find our room. It was very dark in the hallways and we found our way. Upon entering the room, it was very small and barren. We had the Spooks, Goblns room.
Anyway, if you want any kind of amenity, stay away from this place - especially for the prices they charge. No ironing board and iron, no iron. Oh, they have a "frig" for leftovers and a microwave. No Ice. We were lucky to go down to the restaurant before they closed (at 7 p.m.) to get some ice. But had to put it in the bathroom sink. No ice bucket of any kind. No glasses (they could even be plastic or a Dixie cup dispenser, for cryin' out loud). The toiletries were scant, at best. Just a shampoo, conditioner and a sliver of soap. There was a wardrobe in the room with hangers - and what a motley bunch of hangers it was - like somebody just took them out of their closet at home. Really - you can go to WalMart and get a 20 pack of plastic hangers for a couple bucks.

The common area was a joke - a couple of chairs. There was a coffee maker for coffee in the morning. But no sink or anything. I guess you had to schlep back and forth from your room. And games? One Monolopy game. And a checkboard table - with no checkers. Not that we were going to play any; it was just amusing.

You're better off staying five miles out of Jerome in a town called Cottonwood - a brand new Quality Inn, that we didn't know about until we were driving by it. It looks beautiful, with a fountain out front and everything. I checked on line, and it's about a third of the price less than Mile High, and you get all the amenities.

I don't know what other reviewers were talking about a view. Not our room. We had a view of the side of a building. You're pretty much on your own in this place. It's a miracle they have free wifi.

“Might be best all-around in Jerome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2010

We have stayed in a number of B&B's in Jerome and this may be the best all-around. It has a perfect location in the center of town and if you get the right rooms you will have a great view overlooking the valley and the rim. Some of the rooms come with, and others without, a private bath. You can save some money with a short walk down the hallway!

The rooms include breakfast in the Mile High Cafe just below. An excellent eatery that we have frequented in the past. Either order the All-American breakfast, or, order what you wish and they will knock $5 off. By the way, the ciabatta french toast is absolutely to die for!

The only shortcomings we found were two: a) The air control in the room was not the best, still a restful evening, but not the best. b) We had returned from the Prescott Rodeo on Saturday and the cafe closed at 9pm - that was just a bit too early for us. It is Jerome of course, so we found 3 others closing at the same time; fortunately Quince's just a couple of doors down was still open, serving and festive.

Do try a number of B&B's if you are traveling to Jerome frequently, as we have. If not, and you only get one shot, I would recommend the Mile High Inn.

“My Family Will Never Let Me Forget This Choice”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2009

OMG this place is down right spooky ... I wish I'd read the book "Sleeping with Ghosts" before I booked into this place. We were the only guests which may have been part of the problem. The rooms are all themed well but everywhere was dark and smelt really musty. I was with my husband and 17 year old twin sons who are complete non-believers in anything to do with spirits but we stayed up playing cards until 1am and were gone by 7am because we all felt uncomfortable.
Unless you're into that kind of thing don't book into this place for a romantic get away.
I don't know what happened to our included breakfast either - the restaurant doesn't open until 11am? By that time we were well gone....
Note this place was once a mortuary ....
