“romantic & original”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

Jan 2012:
this route 66 gem has been in the same family for generations. In fact, the furniture inside each concrete "teepee" is in fact original! My fiance & I fell in love all over again!
when we lost my phone the following morning, the staff was most helpful and laughed with us as we found it under the driver seat in our car!
Super affordable, super cute!
the heater was uber dooper warm inside our Wigwam!
We intend on being repeat customers!

Room Tip: Room #11 is amazing for couples!

“Must stay Route 66 Motel”

We stayed here in April 2011 it was one of our pre-planned stops on our Route 66 adventure and did not disappoint!

Like a step back in time, very old school, but comfortable. The old cars are great to have a look at and the staff very friendly. They recommended a steak house which was a short walk down the road where we sampled some locally brewed beer and great steaks before settling down for a cosy night in our Wigwam.

This is just one of those places you HAVE to stop at when driving Route 66!!

“A Trip Back to Childhood”

Our family traveled Route 66 a number of times when I was a child, during and after World War II. The Wigwam Motel takes you back to those days of yesteryear. It was extremely cold the night we stayed but our wall heater and an extra blanket did the job for us, it was really a pleasant experience. Even the trains that go past near the back of the property brought back memories of childhood.

The Wigwam is probably not for everyone, although our 8 year old grand daughter also enjoyed it, but for those who want a fun, different experience, the Wigwam is the place to go.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper stay near the front of the property and you avoid most of the noise from...

“Wigwam Motel is great fun!”

We stayed at the Wigwam Motel during the Christmas holidays and it was great fun!
The room was nice and cozy and larger inside than it appears from the outside. There is plenty of room inside with a cozy double bed and a vintage bathroom and tile shower with excellent hot water! Everything worked very well and we had a comfortable night's sleep here. The vintage cars parked out front were an extra special treat since we really like cruising on Route 66. This is a good value for the money spent and a very unique experience that everyone should try! We loved this place!

Room Tip: Pick a room toward the back if you want to be away from the road and a little bit of noise. The pla...

“Route 66 fun”

I have always wanted to stay here and finally got the chance. Our Wigwam was much larger than I expected inside. We had a room with one bed and a little desk and table. We were traveling with our dog and they allow dogs. The heater worked great as it snowed that night. My boyfriend gives high marks to the water pressure in the shower. There is a train that runs by, but we live in New Orleans where we hear loud train horns all the time. There were no train horns, just the occasional hum of the freight train delivering goods across America. Each parking spot has it's own historic car to park next to. The safeway is conveninetly located across the street, and we bought some fruit and cheese and crackers and stayed in to enjoy our wigwam nostalgia. I love that this place still exists on the old route 66. If you're looking for a flashback to the past, definitely stay here.
