“Like staying in a friend's very nice guest house!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2011 via mobile

As everyone else has described, spotless, beautiful, personalized, like staying in a friend's guest cottage but you never see your friend...

We came to Bisbee for a 2-night family fun getaway, just a few hours from home. We stayed in the big Warren room, 2nd floor, full sized kitchen is beautiful, attractive dishes, all cookware, and even kitchen condiment basics. Wonderful how even on top of what is promised and discussed, it seems people leave extras like olive oil, deodorant under the bathroom sink, etc. for the use of future guests. Really appreciated the half and half for coffee that is provide in rooms. The bed, pillows, and bedding were wonderful. The free DVDs were great, watched two. The wine was appreciated. The bathroom was very large, water hot and strong pressure, a real hair dryer, not those little loud wall ones in most hotels, this one is nicer than the one I have at home!

Service was great, even though invisible... We were amazed that throughout the whole two night stay we never saw any "staff." and yet it went well! We only met Fred because we said hello when went for dinner to the delicious, gourmet restaurant in which he tends bar. Love the keyless room idea, no one needs to meet you for the pass-off, brilliant. Because of this, BRING YOUR ROOM CODE IN CONFIRMING EMAIL. We neglected to tell Fred we had our son as a third person, as I somehow confused the property with another that had space for three in the room. There was enough extra blankets and pillows for him to "camp" the first night, and the second day while we were doing the mine tour, the BEST blow-up bed magically appeared, fully made with bedding. It is the kind seen in the in-flight catalog, very deluxe inflatable with tall legs, it's like a "real" bed.

Redeemed our breakfast coupons up the road at High Desert Cafe. It's a $3 credit per certificate if you want to upgrade to something more. All food quality is excellent, items made in-house daily, breakfast burritos are great, get there before they run out. The second morning we redeemed the coupons by just grabbing muffins to go to eat as a snack later, and chose to go to a full-service breakfast restaurant that gets great reviews. Nice choice to be able to enjoy the breakfast amenity without having to eat two breakfasts.

The one negative issue we had (I know from reading other review comments that Fred will be frustrated by this, sorry Fred!) was that in our second floor room, we heard every step from a woman staying upstairs on the third floor. In the morning while we were still sleeping, she put on dress shoes with hard clicking heels (women's pumps worn with a skirt suit, yes, in Bisbee... we saw her out the window as she finally left), and continued to get ready for another 10-15 mnutes, moving back and forth across our ceiling with very loud, sharp steps. We are very heavy sleepers, noise is not something that bothers us much, so we did not use the earplugs provided. It was a quiet weekend in town, did not expect to need them! This was so loud it was comical. Later in the morning, we heard ongoing bumping and shuffling of items, like someone was cleaning perhaps. That was okay, we were already up. I would like to suggest a little sign in the upstairs rooms to consider their footwear?

Thanks, Fred, it was lovely!

We appreciate the time you took to do such a full review, thank you for mentioning what you like about the Inn. The one issue that disturbed you, that of high heels, in an upstairs bedroom, is vexing. As mentioned in another review response, we have beautiful red oak floors and chose not to cover them with carpeting for aesthetic as well as mitigation of dust mites and allergy issues. The downside of that is that walking on the hard surface transmits noise. We do have a signs in all of our upstairs rooms and in our room books asking guest to refrain from wearing high heels or cowboy boots until they are ready to leave the room. We get few complaints, but almost everyone has been about noise of some sort. We are always open to suggestions about noise mitigation. We hope that one thing won't dissuade you from visiting us again.

“Balcony view of old mining town”

Stayed 3 nights. Enjoyed the second floor balcony view of mountains & picturesque miners' houses scaling the canyon walls across from the inn. Uniquely decorated bedroom very clean & comfortable to return to in late afternoons. Liked being able to park off the street and then in the evening be within walking distance to any of the downtown restaurants. With only a few rooms available, more quiet and private than other places with multiple rooms. Definitely would stay there again. Barbara

We always appreciate it when guests take time to write a review of Copper City Inn. And we know from our own experience how valuable these reviews are when traveling; we rely on them extensively.
Cleanliness is the most important part of running our Inn, (well there is the money too...) We are fortunate that our Inn is in a new (8 years) building, although it blends in with the historical architecture of Bisbee very well. With the design and materials we have chosen, it is relatively easy to keep clean. We also have an exceptionally good room cleaner that works with us. We understand how important it is to guests because cleanliness is one of the things mentioned and appreciated most often. Which leads us to believe that some other places that travelers have been do not have the same attention to cleaning.
For extreme experiences, Tripadvisor, every so often highlights the worst lodging stories from travelers which almost always feature some outrageously dirty rooms.

“Not for light sleepers...or romance.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

The Copper City Inn is very conveniently located on Tombstone Canyon, just in downtown Bisbee. You can walk all over town from the hotel with ease.
We stayed in the Jane Colter room, which is a small room upstairs. It was very nice, with a comfortable bed, and spotlessly clean. There is a small communal balcony overlooking the street.
I would have given 4 stars, except for a couple of reasons. First, the walls are very, very, thin. We heard our neighbors on either side clearly talking as if they were in the room with us. Unfortunately, one of the neighbors had a cold, and was coughing and hacking and snoring most of the night, which was very annoying, especially when his wife yelled to wake him! We didn't sleep much. This also pretty much ruined our romantic getaway...we didn't feel like there was ANY privacy here.
Second, the place is billed as a "Bed and Breakfast". Well, there is no breakfast! You will get a coupon to take to a shop down the street for "coffee, tea, OR juice, scone, muffin, OR bagel". There are much better breakfasts at the most any motel around!
PS We did find two pairs of earplugs in the nightstand drawer the morning we left.

Room Tip: Ask if there are rooms with no neighbors.

Well, we certainly are sorry that your stay with us, along with romantic expectations, was ruined by overly loud neighbors. As I've mentioned in other reviews, our walls are 1 foot thick with double insulation not thin, thin walls between rooms. We purposely did not carpet the floors because of the beautiful floors and to mitigate allergy issues, and although there are floor rugs, sometimes noise gets transmitted because of the harder surface. We also did not put beds with headboards abutting adjacent walls. We have put earplugs in each room. (Because of this guests' review, we have now moved earplugs to a more conspicuous location.) We have tried to minimize noise as best we can. That said, occasionally there is a combination of ordinary, but loud, people in one room, and more noise sensitive people in adjacent rooms which leads to unpleasant stays. That may or may not be the case with this guest.
This is the first complaint we have had in 7 years about the 'breakfast'. We state very clearly on our website and email confirmations there is an off-site continental breakfast. High Desert Markets' baked goods and pastries, are all made in house with good coffee. I do believe the comparison to motels is not fair nor accurate.
Our goal is to please very guest and to that end we try to anticipate guests' needs. Sometimes our Inn just doesn't work for the guest. And unfortunately that was true in this case.

“So comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

We enjoyed our stay at the Inn.... very comfortable and clean. We would definitely stay there again. I liked the fact that there was no key to loose and coming and going so easy with the code. Parking and the entrance could not have been easier. Very carefree and the wine and water were nice amenities to have available. We really liked this place and look forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: We viewed the room on the first floor - it was huge - a suite.

Thank you for your review. When we began our business 7 years ago, we decided on digital locks because of the 'losing key problem' and 'how to get the guest the key when they arrive at midnight'. It has turned out to be on of the best things we have done. Although a few guests have been uncomfortable with no reception area to pick up a key or card, almost all guests have enjoyed the ease and fluidity that using codes to the front door and their room has allowed. It certainly has been good for us, with no worry about when a guest is arriving and how to get them the key. We change codes regularly and have had no problems with security.

“Quaint Bisbee Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011 via mobile

Stayed one evening at CCI and was very pleased with the accommodations. Sadly, due to a flat tire delay, we arrived too late to enjoy the sunset while sipping our complimentary bottle of wine from our balcony. The room was neat, well appointed and the bathroom modern and spacious enough for a couple to rush to prepare for a dinner reservation. Breakfast was in the form of a coupon at a local spot which we enjoyed but may not be what others prefer. Parking, a problem in general in Bisbee, is not an issue with off the street slots in front of the Inn. A short walk takes you to shops and restaurants. Staff, while not on the premises, were very courteous amd helpful. We highly recommend thecCopper City Inn.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. I remember speaking with you at Cafe Roka. Next time I hope your tires stay inflated for a more complete visit.
