Bob and Joanne Larue run a first class B & B operation. They pay attention to all the little details that meet the needs of their guests—fresh towels daily, bed linens, small creature comforts, etc. Bob does the cooking and is an excellent breakfast chef. We did not have a bad meal there and they even prepared a bagged breakfast for an early departure. They know what they are doing and go out of their way to be helpful and engaging. Good people running a quality B & B!

We stayed in the large master bedroom suite, which was huge, with a stone fireplace, bathroom and private entrance. The bed was very comfortable. There was a phone, tv and wireless connection for my laptop. We had chairs, two couches and a recliner. Even a library!

The price was reasonable for the comfort, privacy and breakfasts; much less than for a 5-star stay at a hotel. All that and personal attention make this a "must stay at" whenever we are in Valdez.

Wow! This was the best B and B we found in Alaska! Bob and Jo started running the B and B after they volunteered to host the Exxon Management after the Exxon Valdez accident. Jo really pays attention the details, excellent black out blinds (needed in Alaska), spacious rooms, a book with info on the area, a little basket with items in case you forgot something. She even gave us a little Alaskan gift as we left. Gussie's is named for thier little dog, who is the sweetest thing! If you are a dog person, this is the place to be. If you're not, Gussie has been trained not to enter the guest's area, so she won't bother you. Jo and Bob really know the area and directed us well as to what to see and where to eat. I highly recommend this B and B!!
