IF you are expecting a traditional B&B, this is NOT it. It resembles a run down motel. Location is great and there are apparently some decent rooms, but ours was not one of them. We were in room #2, I think, which was on the ground floor of the left hand section of the buliding as you look at the front. The room was marginally clean, damp and musty smelling with a window that had a torn screen. Leaving the window open invited unwanted insects and noise but was necessary at first to get a bit of fresh air in there. WiFi did not work at first - it did, with a very weak signal, after I complained about it. Breakfast was about what you would get at most chain motels in the lower 48. The only good thing is its location. It is right in the middle of Valdez within a short distance of the ferry terminal. The price was only a little less than other accomodations that appeared to be much nicer. Even with the possibility of better rooms available, I would definitely not gamble on this place again.

When I could not walk in and have a room with several hotel, this is a place. It's clean & nice breakfast. Staffs are nice as well but I moved to a better hotel the next day.

Stayed for one night. Room and house were a little bit dowdy. Not very comfortable. Location is ok, near harbour and ferry terminal. Continental breakfast included. It is ok for a one-night stay, especially when you have to leave early for the ferry. For several nights I would choose a B&B next time.

This place is situated in one of the most gorgeous places on earth and the contrast could be more stark.

Our room had peeling paint with stained and worn carpet. Rusty pipes ran throughout the rambling room with uneven floors. The faucet and toilet dripped and had rust stains.

It was billed as a kitchenette but the "wet bar" was an flimsy metal console from a 50s mobile home and the fridge portion didn't work well. Not many usable utensils. The TV was smallish and had poor reception. The beds were old and saggy. The linens were gross.

The one window was broken and the walls were thin.

The continental breakfast was nothing special but the large room where we ate came in handy at other times for planning our adventures (since we wanted to spend as little time in our room as possible).

In summary, the owners didn't really even try to make this a nice place and the room was NOT cheap. But by the time we got there, everything else was booked so we grinned and tried to bear it.
