I have never stayed in a place where the ceiling actually fell down in the middle of the night!
I can't recommend this one but I'll never forget this trip to Valdez!

Bette Davis said it best: "What a dump!" Six months before arrival, I called the Downtown B&B to reserve a room, asking for one with a terrace or balcony. I was told only room #14 had access to a terrace, so I booked it; it was available for my full 10-day stay. Twice in the intervening months I called to check on something, and each time confirmed I was in Room 14. Well, you guessed it, when I arrived Room 14 was taken by someone else - a seasonal employee! I had been moved into some horrible little room with a broken chair and sagging bed and window about the size of a toaster (well, maybe a chair). I should have known the place was a dump by the ground-in dirt in the hallway carpet , but I looked at one available room after another, each sadder and dingier than the others. Valdez in general lacks charming accommodations, but nothing was as much a nightmare as this dump.
