We were going to be arriving late so I called to give them a heads up - I was only able to leave a voicemail. As I recall, when I booked several months in advance, I emailed first but did not recieve a response. I then called to book the room and then received a response to my email after I had already booked the room via phone. The room comes with breakfast that is served in the Mexican resturant that is located downstairs. As we were going on an excursion quite early in the morning, we were going to be leaving before breakfast started. When we mentioned this at check in, the owner offered to have the restaurant make some breakfast burritos and store them in the guest refrigerator upstairs. We had access to the kitchen and were able to use the microwave in the morning. We were pleasantly surprised by this extra touch. The other breakfast we had in the Mexican restaurant was pretty good. The room was basic and had an attached bathroom. The walls are quite thin though which proved problematic only on the first night when the guest staying in the adjacent room had the TV on the entire night. There was internet which worked fine for us.
