“Amazing place... 7 Star food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 May 2012 NEW

One of my most relaxing vacations ever, An amazing resort with great scenery and relaxation atmosphere., Part of Porto Ghaleb (10 min from the airport) , a huge compounds of hotels and Marina, the hotel is interconnecting with Crown plaza (4Star, all inclusive), with a large lagoon. The food was delicious for breakfast and dinner. Went for diving, unfortunately didn't see much except large turtles and the Dugonga (sea cow!), but snorkeling from the hotel beach , just 3 meters, the best ever corals and colored fish 20-30m deep. the kids had great fun with the Hermit crabs.
Rooms are capacious and very nice bathroom. TV needs to be bigger to fit he room size.
Some children activity in the Marina , with bowling, and games. Unfortunately, the hotel had a small number of guests, maybe part of the political situation and elections, expected to resolve soon.
We had a lovely time....

Room Tip: Sea View, Interconnecting rooms

“Excellent Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 May 2012 NEW

We stayed at the hotel in February and would definitely recommend this to others and look to return ourselves.
We had high expectations after reading reviews and this did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived to our warm welcome by the management team, we felt at home and everybody went out of their way to ensure that we were looked after. It was my husband's birthday whilst we were there and they arranged a cake and really made a fuss of him throughout the day.
The hotel and surroundings are fantastic and there is plenty to keep you occupied. Our beautiful room had everything we needed and looked out over the Rea Sea.
We ate most nights in the Olive Restaurant although spend one night in the Lebanese restaurant in the Market Square. This is a short walk (although buggy ride) from the main hotel although definitely worth a visit... the food is amazing!! I would also recommend the day safari if you want to see what the area has to offer, this was easily booked through the hotel and we had a great time visiting a local village, camel riding, quad biking and having a dinner under the stars.

“lovely holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 May 2012

This was my third trip back to the Intercontinental Palace and without a doubt it is an excellent hotel - the staff do make it!! However, I do need to say that the service in the Olive restaurant did fall below the standard that I have previously experienced here! This is a shame but I suspect it had something to do with the hotel now offering a buffet dinner as well as a la carte whereas before it has only been a la carte/table d'hote. I did manage to get a waiter one evening who had been working at the hotel for some years and his service was impeccable! The new waiters do leave alot to be desired - both at breakast and dinner! But it still is an excellent hotel.
One place where the food was divine and service impeccable was the Cardoman restaurant. PLEASE PLEASE visit this fantastic restaurant which is on the Crown Plaza site. It has only been open a few weeks/month and the food is mouth wateringly good. The chef even comes out to make sure! The service that I received here was fabulous - just what I would have expected from a 5star restaurant.
All in all, go and enjoy this hotel and restaurant. Soak up the sun in a very idyllic place and vow to return

Room Tip: All the rooms are of excellent standard. Extremely well maintained

“Best relaxing spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 May 2012

We spent a total of five weeks here . Three weeks the first time in april and we were so impressed we had to come back for two more weeks a few months later . Its on the Red Sea and you can be assured of great weather . Always a blue sunny sky , warm temperatures . Warm water for swimming , diving or snorkelling . A short walk to other restaurants and boats for trips to other reefs and diving . The staff at this hotel and on the beach were very attentive to our needs , over the top!
Buffet breakfast was delicious , with fresh omlettes , eggs etc. lots of choice . Very nice to sit outside for breakfast and all meals . Great place to unwind , walk to waterfront or take in other few sites . Very close to the airport but in a world all to its own . Great for families as the crown plazas has lots of children activities .

“As good as it gets. Excellent by all measures.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 April 2012

I spent my Easter break along with my wife and her parents. We opted for half board - sea view rooms. Here's my take:

Property & Location: Very impressive
- Magnificent property, brand new with luxurious/spacious rooms.
- Impressive pools, we barely had enough time to visit one... the sea water ones look amazing (promise to try them next time).
- The hotel's beach is just beautiful. Offering easy access through a shallow sandy entrance with colorful corals where you can just sit on your knees and observe underwater sea life as God created it. Even though National Geographic and Blue Planet offer impressive views on a TV screen, nothing beats the real thing. I’ve been all over the world and still, nothing beats the Red Sea.

Quality of Service: Magnificent
- In short, the hotel's team have pampered us to the extent that other international five star players seem weak relative to the Palace's standards.
- We were met by Moustafa at the airport who took us to the hotel for a seamless check-in. As we arrived close to midnight and our booking was on a half board basis, they were kind enough to prepare dinner for us which was ready in our rooms upon arrival.
- Moustafa was kind enough to take good care of my in laws while my wife and I were diving. He showed them around the property and made sure they got everything they needed throughout the four nights of our stay.
- Hassan from the concierge/guest relations desk, made sure all of our expectations were met and made sure we enjoyed every single minute of our time. He helped us book a number of activities and was like a bee buzzing all over the hotel from the beach to the reception making sure all of the hotel’s guests were happy.
- Toba Abu Alam, who serviced our rooms, is simply an angel... His timeliness, cleanliness, care and pampering, attention to detail... all exceed expectations. He loves his job, he does it with pride and with the most delightful smile. It is people like Toba that give me hope in a brighter future for Egyptians.
- There was also a very pleasant gentleman at the olive restaurant, tall with glasses. Sadly, I cannot remember his name, but he made sure that we always got what we wanted for both breakfast and dinner.
- Nina from guest relations was very caring, she also made sure we were happy with everything.

I’m sure the hotel’s staff will read this review (please do excuse me if I got any of the names wrong), a big thank you from our side… I can’t wait to see you again soon, I just booked my second trip in early June (less than two months from our first visit).

Room Tip: Take a sea view room if you can.
