“What a great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2011

Last year in November we went with 21 pers to this hotel. Everything except the animation team was well organized. The rooms where very clean and the staff was very friendly. Very important, the food was from good qualitie and was tastefull. Not one off us was ill during this week and that says allot.

I would go back anytime.

“value for money”

lets start off with the thomson flights.I have traveled to most parts of egypt , but never with my knees under my chin for 51/2 hrs,it was terrible. We were told the in-flight entertainment was broken, it was still broken 2 weeks later.when we took off on our way back the condensation pored out of the ceiling wetting a few people, but the cabin crew did,nt seem to be botherd with the problem. The journy to hotel was slow because they had to take £13 off everyone for the vista, because it was only a short disstance to hotel the driver never got out of 2nd gear.
The check-in was painless and we were showed to our rooms. We had a cort yard view were some entertainment was showed some evinings, other rooms had a pool view. Our bedroom was kept clean during our stay but the bathroom was not.We should have complained but we did,nt, we did,nt want to get the boy in trouble.
Sun beads round the pool was no problem no matter what time you wanted one.Pool yowels are provided via a card system.
To get to the beach from the hotel, you have to turn left out of hotel after 100 yds turn right, anoth 300yds and you are on thr beach. You can cut the distance in half by going through the gardens of the Lamaya hotel opposit. If its snorkling you want you have to use the jetty to get into deep water. If its just to cool off you have to walk to the center of the bay and you can walk into the sea. After walking about 200yds uoy are only up to your knees,if the tide is out it is even less.
Because its only a small hotel you dont get a great choice of food in the resturant but what there is .is good.
The animation team are are nearly all italian, and they are paid by an italian holiday company, so they dont seem to talk to the none italians much. The evening entertainment is mostly in italian. There is no problem in going into thr other hotels to see their entertainment, you just cant get a drink there. The amphitheatre were most of the entertainmant is shown is about 300yds from the bar, so take plenty with you.
We got to know some lovely people while we were there , thanks Johm, Pauleen and Meg for making the holiday what it was.You might think I was grumbling a lot about this hotel, but Ijust did not want to come home, another week would have been great. Would I go back again? yes.

“a very relaxing time!”

A good time spent. good quality hotel that was forever being cleaned! the room was good, nice and clean - but next to the entertainment area, so it was a bit noisy, but to be fair, the entertainment finished at 12 mn. Marsa Alam is a good place for snorkelling and sunbathing, but there is no nightlife for the party lovers! the entertainment is quite diy - the team try their best and 'put their all' into it.(Rudi's dancing is a sight to see!) the food quality was excellent. the staff were extremely helpful and could not do enough for you. I’d like to say that we met some nice people, but............... (only joking!) we had an excellent time and are looking to book again for next year.

“Really relaxing holiday , with great weather ;)”

This hotel is great for a relaxing holiday , we have never seen a cleaner hotel ,they are forever cleaning !!. The pool is nice but its not really big but was nice for a cool down. The all inc dining area is nice but at rush hour can be fairly noisey but you can sit outside, The staff in the hotel and resort are all friendly and cannot do enough for you , the room is made every day by a room boy who of course is an artist at the towel swans :) . the entertainment are a bit lame but try to do their best but its worth watching them just to see rudi dance( have u seen spotty dog).
The food is good and fresh , pizzas from the pool bar and beach bar are really nice and freshly made sandwihes are available also.
The beach at Marsa Alam is good in places but from in front of the beach bar you cannot just walk into the sea , you must walk around the coral as their is restricted areas and at low tide can look a bit scruffy . Their is a jetty also to walk down to enter the sea but i do feel sorry for the donkey who has to pull the cart with the air tanks in ( and its a bit smelly too as you can imagine) .
Also just to comment their is nothing really to do outside Marsa Alam if you dont want to travel for hours , its fairly as you can say in the middle of no where and its a new resort which has'nt got any history with it and not a camel insite , other than that its great to relax and soak up that sunshine and if your a diver its really great for you .
Also its seems to be a very safe place all in all on the beach and to walk round the area as most times we left all our things on the beach to go for dinner etc.
I have tried to be as honest as poss but if you need to ask any questions please email, we had a great time met loverly people

“Lovely Hotel, Lovely Weather.”

This is a lovely hotel, with amazing staff, good food, and it's so clean it sparkles!! Marsa Alam is an ideal place to go for a beach / pool holiday. The snorklling is amazing, the water park fantastic and the locals are very friendly.
My only negative point is that because it is a majority Italian hotel we found that the kids club was unavaiable to the english children. The girl who ran the club avoided the english, I think it was because her english was poor.
The entertainment was so bad it was funny!! They were very friendly and worked hard. If you have children, make sure they are not in the pool when the water polo is on!! Get's a bit over the top!
We spoke with the manager as all the entertainment was all in Italian and things improved, but he did say that a new entertainment company were starting in November.
Getting a drink in the evening was frustrating as there was only one bar open and it is not in the entertainment area, but his cocktails were worth the wait!!
On the whole this is a superb hotel and we had a fab holiday!!
Tip: You will need to haggle in every shop you go in, that will include the chemist! And tipping goes a long way!
**Just a word of warning, on the beach a man does henna tattoo's, please get a skin test first. My son had a bad reaction, with huge painful blisters!!! Please beware.**
