“very nice hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

we stayed at the hotel just before Christmas 2011 and it was just perfect ! The hotel is quite small, not one of those big hotels with thousands of rooms difficult to locate, the personnel was very friendly, service brilliant, food very good and different every day, everything very clean. There was also a team of youngsters in charge of animation and they were just brilliant both for adults and kids. Very nice swimming pool reaching 30 degrees in December ... Available on site : swimming pool, the beach (bar and food + long chairs + service available free of charge) within 5 minutes walk, diving centre with acceptable prices (11 euros for snorkeling per day including all equipment) kids club, sport room nicely equipped and at 200m the aquapark.

Room Tip: family rooms are on the ground level with direct access to the swimming pool (but not noisy).

“Wonderfull.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 June 2011

It's quite a small property. The location is not front-line beach but second row a short walk from the sea-side. We stayed for a week from June 17 to 24 and came for diving. Can't fault the hotel nor the dive centre nor the actual diving, even the weather was perfect ranging from 32 - 35 °C during mid-day down to 23 - 26 at night , the sea at 27 - 28, winds were moderate. The A/C is not too noisy and adjustable.

The rooms are nicely decorated, comfortable bed, large walk-in shower, nice fair sized balcony, plenty of space in the closets. There is a kettle in the room , the socket is behind the cup-board ! Food is OK, house-wine also, I don't like the beer. The -Chocolate- Chef came around at dinner for a couple of days and then I needed to hunt him down as I was getting addicted. There are two - à la carte restaurants - (paying) one italian and the other arabic both with indoor and outdoor setting .To top all this is the generally amicable personnel from gardener to GM.
The entertainment team was beautiful and I can't judge if they were good or bad since we were busy with diving most of the time and wouldn't bother with anything else. The vast majority of the guests were Italian and german speaking , there were only a few english voices. Occupancy was about 60 % and the general atmosphere was just most relaxing, the ladies particularly the younger generation dressed up quite chic for dinner while the men tried their best.

On the day we checked-out Theresa of Public Relation came to wave good-by to everyone leaving that morning and I suspect there was a tear in her eyes but then I am sure she will be all smiles again greeting the new arriving guests. We would have loved to stay longer.

“Lovely hotel, they could not do enough for you but beware of the kids club”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 March 2011

The hotel was really lovely and spotlessly clean. Our male cleaner cleaned the room and changed the sheets and towels daily and really did an amazing job. By far the cleanest hotel i have stayed in.

The hotel was lovely and management could not do enough to please you. I asked if the room could be sprayed because of the mosquitos and this was done straight away and we had a phonecall that evening to check that we were happy. We asked for extra water and a jug to sterilise my babys dummies and this was done straight away and yet again we had another phone call to make sure we had everything we needed. It actually got to be a bit of a joke that every evening one of the familys we travelled with had a phonecall but they genuinelly just wanted to make sure you were happy and having a good holiday.

The food was great a really good selection,. something different on the bbq each night The reastaurant was lovely, maybe it felt a little noisy and canteen like at times but the food was good and it was furnished lovely. The pool and the kids pool was great and the bar was fine. We all really enjoyed the larger nad the spirits were good quality.

My only grip and this personally was a MASSIVE grip, was the kids club. It really was not set up well for english kids but my little lad was desperate to go so i took him one morning and the rest of the family just sat by the pool so we could see what was happening so we new he was safe. Two minutes later out came my little boy and another little girl with the childrens rep and not realising we were watching and within earshot she stood them next to the big pool and told them to wait there, she would be back in two minutes. Obviously i just got my son and the other family got there daughter and the rep came back over twenty mins later!! She glanced around could not see the children and went back to the kids hut. My little boy cannot swim and he could have just wandered off if we had not been watching. I went in half hour later to find the childrens rep sleeping! I did complain that afternoon to our holiday rep who was horrified and to be fair the hotel took the incdent very seriusly and set up a meeting with us the holiday rep, the hotel manager and the entertainment manager, they dealt with the incident and they did say we could have one to one time with another childrens rep but obviously there was no way now i was going to leave him again although i did sit in with him a few times when he wanted to go and do an activity and to be fair this other childrens rep was really lovely, very apologetic and really made a big fuss of my son.

The location of the hotel - in the middle of nowhere but we knew that before we went.

Please go on the snorkelling trip it was amazing, we saw some amazing sea life and came touching distance to three high turtles.

We also did Cairo (nan and grandad looked after the children) this was really amazing but very tireing. Please dont take your children a couple of families did and there children were physically sick on the way home. Its very hot, very tireing but really really amazing.

“What a great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2011

Last year in November we went with 21 pers to this hotel. Everything except the animation team was well organized. The rooms where very clean and the staff was very friendly. Very important, the food was from good qualitie and was tastefull. Not one off us was ill during this week and that says allot.

I would go back anytime.

“value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2010

lets start off with the thomson flights.I have traveled to most parts of egypt , but never with my knees under my chin for 51/2 hrs,it was terrible. We were told the in-flight entertainment was broken, it was still broken 2 weeks later.when we took off on our way back the condensation pored out of the ceiling wetting a few people, but the cabin crew did,nt seem to be botherd with the problem. The journy to hotel was slow because they had to take £13 off everyone for the vista, because it was only a short disstance to hotel the driver never got out of 2nd gear.
The check-in was painless and we were showed to our rooms. We had a cort yard view were some entertainment was showed some evinings, other rooms had a pool view. Our bedroom was kept clean during our stay but the bathroom was not.We should have complained but we did,nt, we did,nt want to get the boy in trouble.
Sun beads round the pool was no problem no matter what time you wanted one.Pool yowels are provided via a card system.
To get to the beach from the hotel, you have to turn left out of hotel after 100 yds turn right, anoth 300yds and you are on thr beach. You can cut the distance in half by going through the gardens of the Lamaya hotel opposit. If its snorkling you want you have to use the jetty to get into deep water. If its just to cool off you have to walk to the center of the bay and you can walk into the sea. After walking about 200yds uoy are only up to your knees,if the tide is out it is even less.
Because its only a small hotel you dont get a great choice of food in the resturant but what there is .is good.
The animation team are are nearly all italian, and they are paid by an italian holiday company, so they dont seem to talk to the none italians much. The evening entertainment is mostly in italian. There is no problem in going into thr other hotels to see their entertainment, you just cant get a drink there. The amphitheatre were most of the entertainmant is shown is about 300yds from the bar, so take plenty with you.
We got to know some lovely people while we were there , thanks Johm, Pauleen and Meg for making the holiday what it was.You might think I was grumbling a lot about this hotel, but Ijust did not want to come home, another week would have been great. Would I go back again? yes.
