“Great place to stay”

Our 4th time in Polynesia and in Rangiroa, but our first time at the Hotel Maiti, we will go back there for sure! We usually stay at the Kia Ora, but it has become too big unfortunately, loosing its charm, so the Hotel Maiti has become our new favorite in Rangiroa!
Close to the airport, and close to the Gauguin Pearl Farm (the shuttle and the visit are free and very interesting, they will show and explain to you all the steps in the creation of the Pearl). And you will get a much better price buying at the farm than in Tahiti!
Back to the Maitai, the staff is very nice, the place clean and the bungalows very comfy and clean with AC and fan, and TV.
The coral reef is beautifull and full of marine life, snorkeling is fantastic. The beach is not of white sand but coral, on the rocky side, so it is not always easy to get in and out of the water. Might not the best place to stay with youg children (no swimming pool), but for the others, it is a blast!
The restaurant is very nice, the food very good. The salad bar is not very good though...
To resume, WE LOVED IT and we will go back there.

Room Tip: "Lagoon" bungalow are first row on the ocean, "Beach" bungalow have ocean view b...

“Great place to stay on a beautiful island paradise”

Highly recommend this hotel. Located just a short drive from the airport, the bungalows are comfortable, clean and with tv and air-conditioning. The staff are all warm, lovely and friendly and always available to help. The food in the restaurant was fresh, well cooked, full of flavour and plenty of variety. There are also lots of tours availalble. We arranged diving with the local Top Dive centre with free pick-up. We also had a free pick-up for the local Gaugin Pearl Farm which is just a few mins drive away. Highly recommend buying pearls here, much cheaper than anywhere else in French Polynesia and excellent quality. The snorkelling is wonderful. We saw lots of fish, stingray and reef sharks. Rangiroa is a very pretty place, not too much to do here other than diving, pearls and snorkelling but it was very relaxing. Will definitely come back here.

“A place where time has stood still”

The Maitai Rangiroa far exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed our time there as well as diving the Tiputa Pass with 6 Passengers ( they were fantastic - highly recommend them). The snorkeling was great right in front of the resort- best we have ever seen- so many fish I could not keep up with trying to identify them. We had a Lagoon View Bungalow# 4 which was nice because no one could sit right in front of your bungalow and it was private. The rooms were clean and comfortable, a bit on the small side but suited us fine. We were supposed to stay at Kia Ora in Rangiroa but they cancelled us and I was concerned about the Maitai but boy we so happy about how it turned out.
The food was great and it suited our tastes just fine. I am a very picky eater and don't eat seafood and I did not have a problem at all.
The staff is friendly and helpful and we quite enjoyed meeting them all. We walked all around Rangiroa and felt as time and the changes that time brings has not touched this place yet- Rangiroa is an amazing place

Due the Tuputa Pass as divining with wild dolphins was the highlight of my life

Room Tip: Room #4 Lagoon View Bungalow Excellent choice

“An excellent choice in Rangiroa”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2011

Rangiroa is the island to be for top quality diving and Maitai Rangiroa is an excellent hotel to stay in.

The food was great, the rooms big and clean, bungalow style, all very close to the beach (avoid the ones next to the garage)...
There is no real beach since the rangiroa's coast is rocky, but there is a beautiful reef to snorkel right next to the rooms!
