The hotel offers great views of the ocean and harbor. My room in the new wing was very large and even had a big balcony. However, we had to deal with too many issues during our five-day stay that were completely unnecessary and could have been dealt with should the management had a more proactive attitute. On our arrival, we could not get our confirmed rooms on the second floor of the new wing (my colleague's computer got stolen during her previous stay on the ground floor, but this of course could have happened elsewhere too) and we had to wait for our preferred rooms for a day, even though they were not occupied. The A/C system was nasty and we sometimes struggled to get enough towels. Water was running continually from the shower faucet: imagine how much precious water got wasted despite numerous reminders to fix this. The hotel restaurant was a mixed bag, on the upside, the food was plentiful and at times quite innovative with some Japanese influence (I really liked the breakfast box), but on the downside, the ants seem to have gotten out of control. I will try to stay elsewhere next time, at $100 a night, there are other good options on the island. The hotel could do so much better with good and caring management! P.S. During your stay in Pohnpei, do not forget to visit the incredible ruins of Nan Madol ...
