Many of the rooms opened onto a grassy area and had picnic tables. Again we found the management very friendly. The internet was very good value...a free half hour and the 24 hours for $9.50. It was a ten minute walk into the town centre which had good supermarkets, shops and an excellent tourist info site.

We booked here for one night and enjoyed it so much we stayed three!! The unit was large and very comfortable, super beds and pillows, and a nice kitchen area fully appointed with modern equipment. Nice big french window, looking out onto the grass. Full amenties available, laundry etc. .....great for a break during a long trip.

James and Jenny (new owners) were so helpful and accommodating for all our queries, and were very knowledgeable about the surrounding area, giving us suggestions for walks and daily adventures. Nothing was too much trouble. They both hike regularly ,so know the paths and tracks well. The motel itself is a good 20 mins walk from town, but this is very pleasant if you walk down the riverside path. The plus side is that it is near the station and not far from the start of the road to Ruahepu Mountain trails.

We just wishes we could have stayed longer... it was like home from home. We left feeling we had stayed with old friends.

We had a one bedroom unit which we found to be very spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a good size and had a spa bath which was lovely after a long day of travelling. The location was very quiet at night as well as being close to restaurants and cafes. We felt that The Peaks offered good value for money. We would happily stay here again.

Very friendly welcome,Room was very clean and well equipped.Space to sit outside on the patio area.We were given maps for walks around the area and other useful info.Short walk into town to the bars etc.Ideal location.Excellent value for money.approx £55 per room.Spa and Gym available.
