“Fantastic ,Relaxing Place.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2007

We flew out to Dalaman airport late September where we got a taxi to Dalyan. We hadn’t booked anywhere since last year we stayed in a terrible hotel in Kusadassi so I wanted to check the acom.before parting with my hard earned money.
We asked in a bar where to stay and were recommended the Likya pension.
The likya was right on the river, so at breakfast we had the most spectacular views across the river to the rock tombs.
To go to the beach the owner would phone the waterbus, which would pick us up from the pension’s jetty.
If we were relaxing in the grounds around three o’clock we would be served with tea and freshly baked cakes
We only intended to stay for four days, then explore other areas. We ended up staying for the whole two weeks.
Dalyan is a wonderful place to unwind and the sales people aren’t as pushy as in other resorts, even in the market.
Food everywhere was wonderful, the best probably being at the Likya itself, although we only ate there twice since we enjoy eating in different places
I am not a sunbather, but the Likya did not have a pool, which could be a problem for some people, although you could swim in the river from the jetty to cool off.
Overall I would recommend Dalyan and the Likya pension to anyone who wants to unwind with fantastic scenery and superb hospitality and food.
Thought I had better mention that two people in one room with breakfast, costs around £10 per person per night.

Russell.

“Likya Pansion Dalyan lovely”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2007

Stayed at the Likya Pansion in Dalyan for a couple of nights.
Family run, right on the river overlooking the rock tombs.
There is a swimming platform so you can have a dip in the river.
The owners are a lovely family of soon to be 3 generations.
They were warm and friendly without intruding into your plans.
The food was home cooked and delicious.
The rooms are larger than the average pansion and spotless.
They have a boat which does trips, not sure where to though as we didn't use it.
Unfortunately it seems these lovely pansions are feeling the effects of large hotels doing all inclusive.
Such a shame,as places like this give you a taste of real Turkish hospitality.
We were 3 adults sharing a room which cost £8 each for b & b.

“Down by the riverside”

Rooms in Likya Pension are spotless, and rates are affordable. What else one could hope for? Pension is located on the river, as well as the rest of most desired properties in Dalyan, so after the breakfast which you must share with bees (ask for a tray with burning ground coffee! Smoke dispels them) you can ask the staff to call a water boat to take you to Iztuzu beach. Pension has a view on the tombs of Likyan kings, as well as the rest of accommodations in this part of Dalyan. Rooms have strong and good airconditions, and balconies have lines for drying your clothes.
For the downside: rooms are not cleaned. I suppose that Turkish custom of respecting the guests` privacy to the extreme is in place, and that I should have asked for it. But, a roll of toilet paper is really something you want to have handy without asking, `nuff said.
And there is a language barrier. Owner speaks so-so English, and staff don`t have an idea what you are talking about except for simple words like "Breakfast", "Water dolmush Iztuzu" etc. I think that owner, like many, many Turks, worked in Germany. Now he is a epitome of serene and calm attitude: except for the guest that establish contact with him for the evening raki and small talk, he basically don`t care are you in the hotel or not, he even didn`t ask us for our passports! Only thing that makes him agitated is an breakfast issue: "You pay for it, why you don`t eat it?"
So we did, and it was good: goes with yellow termos bottle with 1 liter of steaming hot tea!
