We flew out to Dalaman airport late September where we got a taxi to Dalyan. We hadn’t booked anywhere since last year we stayed in a terrible hotel in Kusadassi so I wanted to check the acom.before parting with my hard earned money.
We asked in a bar where to stay and were recommended the Likya pension.
The likya was right on the river, so at breakfast we had the most spectacular views across the river to the rock tombs.
To go to the beach the owner would phone the waterbus, which would pick us up from the pension’s jetty.
If we were relaxing in the grounds around three o’clock we would be served with tea and freshly baked cakes
We only intended to stay for four days, then explore other areas. We ended up staying for the whole two weeks.
Dalyan is a wonderful place to unwind and the sales people aren’t as pushy as in other resorts, even in the market.
Food everywhere was wonderful, the best probably being at the Likya itself, although we only ate there twice since we enjoy eating in different places
I am not a sunbather, but the Likya did not have a pool, which could be a problem for some people, although you could swim in the river from the jetty to cool off.
Overall I would recommend Dalyan and the Likya pension to anyone who wants to unwind with fantastic scenery and superb hospitality and food.
Thought I had better mention that two people in one room with breakfast, costs around £10 per person per night.
Russell.
