“Average Service, a tourist TRAP when it comes to money!”

We stayed at Basar Hotel for two nights (7th to 9th June 2010). There are general issues such as cleanliness and hygine which is I guess normal in Dalyan. Linens quite old and not well dried. Food was very baisc, no wonder it's half board! But the worst part was when at the time of check-out manager demanded extra money despite earlier agreement for us to check out later.

This put us is a very difficult situation as we had to pick up some one from the Airport on our way out and as the manager was aware of this we had no choice but to agree to this in order to leave. Things were below average but manager's extra money demand was very rude. Simply a tourist TRAP!

I have been holidaying in Dalyan for the last 10 years and I have stayed here a total of 4 times, if you want peace and quiet then this is it. It is on the edge of the village ( yet only 5 mins walk to the shops and restaurants) surrounded by cotton fields and idylic views of the surrounding countryside and the ancient lycian rocktombs.
The rooms maybe a little on the small side but are extremley clean with a fridge and mini bar and there is always hot water.
Not often frequented by families as facilities for children are non-existant, it is perfect for those of you who want a pretty hotel in perfect surroundings with beautiful gardens.
The pool is lovely and of a generous size, good if you like to do a few lengths .
I love Dalyan so much ,it is a real gem and the Basar is a great find .
