“Another fantastic Holiday with Kamuran and Yulia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2011

Have just returned from yet another wonderful holiday with Kamuran and Yulia at the Yunuz hotel (8th or 9th - I lose count). As always, we were treated to a warm and friendly reception with excellent service in this wonderful location. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff here. They really do care about you and your holiday. I would recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing holiday with a family atmosphere in the beautiful grounds of a National park. We re-booked for next September before leaving and were not surprised to learn that they only had 3 vacancies left for next year!. No night clubs or flashing lights in this holiday - just beautiful surroundings, a world class beach nearby, good restaurants and a great, quiet hotel from which to enjoy everything. Perfect for a couple or family who want to chill out and to recharge their batteries away from bustle and bright lights. With trips available to swim, dive, fish, see wildlife, visit Roman ruins, soak in mud baths or to soak in thermal springs, there is plenty to do but it is not thrust upon you - just made available if you are interested. Would give Dalyan, and the Yunuz in particular, a firm 100% rating.

“Laid-back and friendly”

Lovely hotel. Nice pool, friendly staff, nice food, clean, good location by the river but not right in the town, so a bit quitier. Nice walk along the jetty into town.

“It works for us!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

We visited Keysan Yunus for the first time last year and had such a wonderful time we booked to go back in 2011, we were not disappointed.
I have read reviews about this hotel and wonder if some people expect too much. This is a wonderful, friendly, family run, small hotel. It is not, nor ever claimed to be, a 5 star glamorous place full of flunkeys. Kamuran, his wife Hulya and brother in law Fatih all work hard to make this a special place. The rooms are spotless (air-con is included in the price, not extra), towels & linens are changed regularly. The breakfasts are more than plentiful. When we were there at the end Aug / early Sept there was always a choice of lovely fruit, salad items, cheese, meat, eggs, bread, jams plus daliy extras such as hot cheese pastries, hot savoury sausage, pancakes, cake, biscuits. What more do people want?
The poolside is relaxing with large fluffy pool towels provided for the duration of your stay.
There was a mix of people present; yes there may be some public sector types (!) but there were also families with teenage children, a family on an activity holiday, retired people..the list goes on.
Whilst we were there we had our wedding anniversary. We asked Hulya if she could cook a meal for a small group of us. Not only did she do that but the table was decorated beautifully with pristine white cloths and flowers and so was our room!
It is somewhere we are more than happy to return to...and will again..we have booked for next year.

Room Tip: Poolside rooms are slightly bigger but those at the side tend to be quiter and have more shade.

“What Is It That Makes Guests Keep Return?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

This review is a bit late but we thought it would good to rebut some of the grumbles about the hotel and its proprietor submitted by "cybelepithana" et. al. Thankfully they are in the minority and should perhaps stay at home.
We stayed three nights at the Yunus last year at the end of our tour of South West Turkey. We enjoyed it so much we decided to book for a week in 2011. As Brian D says in his review, you can't put your finger on precisely what this hotel has going for it as it isn't the most beautiful property in Dalyan and the rooms are only simple and basic. What it does have in shed loads is a friendly, homely atmosphere. Hulia and Fatih are the most helpful people you could wish to meet. When we arrived we found the a/c not to be working. The batteries in the remote were dead. In no time at all, Fatih was there to replace them and get the system working. We then found the hairdryer had gone missing. Again, we mentioned it to Hulia and quick as a flash a replacement was produced. As mentioned in a previous review the food, although it is a simple menu, is beautifully cooked. Breakfasts remain delightful especially when taken on the jetty overlooking the river. The food from the BBQ was superb accompanied by numerous mezes.
Many of the regular guests we met last year were there at the same time as us and this does give the hotel a "club" feel which is quite nice in many ways. It must be the welcoming atmosphere, the hotel’s location bang on the river and a fifteen minute stroll into town that keeps them coming back.
I note that one or two reviewers comment on Kamurun and portray him to be a grumpy individual. Admittedly he isn't very outgoing like many Turks and he may give the impression that he doesn't care about his guests. But if that were so, why would he bother going to the expense of refurbishing the bathrooms? While Kamurun is sitting hunched over his laptop, he is working, running his business. Kamurun is a very thoughtful and has a quirky sense of humour. He cares passionately about his hotel, his guests and of course Jack Daniels, constantly complaining about its high cost.
We'd go back like a shot if we had the time. Maybe next year.

Room Tip: The rooms on the right when viewed from the road are good.

“If you could bottle this you could make a fortune”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2011

I have read the reviews for the Yunus Hotel and feel that some of the negative points reflect on the writers rather than the hotel. I am unable to fathom what is so special about this hotel so I am going back to sample more. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is so friendly and the service is great. If you are looking for 'laid back' there iaint no better place to be.
It is possible that some teenagers may want a lively holiday and Dalyan isn't that type of resort and, I suppose that Yunus, being slightly out of town, reflects this [although there were teenagers and children there at the same time as us who seemed happy enough).
Overall; People are returning every year [some more than once] so book as soon as possible.

Room Tip: Qieter down the sides sunnier in the poolrooms
