“Hidden green oasis”

Just got back from a week at the wonderful Sedir resort, which was recommended to us by some friends. We were two adults and a teenager and we had a truly wonderful time. As everyone else has already said, Baki and Feliz are so warm and welcoming, but underneath that lovely relaxed manner is a super run resort, where the rooms are spotless, the meals delicious and everything is in working order. Their two sons Ocun and Barkin were very much part of the hard working team and were forever playing football with the children, or working hard in the beautiful garden.

We enjoyed being outside the main town, especially having the spectacular views of the mountains and the quietness. A trip into town is a good 15 min walk or, a lift in on the family jeep can be quickly organised. We found it made a really nice contrast to the busyness of the town. There are plenty of trips to do independently in Dalyan ( from the many boat trips to white water rafting) or you can join in with the ones organised by Baki. We took the Sedir organised night cruise with barbecue and mud bath up to the lake. A wonderful time was had by all and we got to know the other guests. Like many others writing reviews here, we know we will be heading back.

“Perfect family holiday”

My husband, two children (10 & 7years) and myself returned home yesterday following a blissful two weeks at the Sedir Resort in Dalyan. I can't recommend the Sedir highly enough - stunning location, fantastic (and uncrowded) pool, lovely bar/restaurant area and spotlessly clean apartments. However, best of all are the family themselves - Baki, Feliz, Orcun and Barkin - for whom nothing was too much trouble. The Sedir is set in a beautiful and quiet location approx 20 minutes walk from the centre of Dalyan. One of the family was always available to drive us into town in their jeep (which the children loved) whenever we wanted to go. We enjoy the buzz of the town in the evenings and like to eat out at different places, but food was always available at the Sedir and the evening meals were very popular with many guests. We met many lovely people during our stay there, and our children made lots of friends and had a wonderful time. Baki, Feliz, Orcun and Barkin are genuinely lovely and friendly people who go out of their way to ensure their guests have the best stay possible, and I can understand why so many guests choose to return. We will no doubt be joining their ranks at some point in the near future!

“Restful guesthouse in Dalyan”

The Sedir Resort.

The owner and his family are great, you feel like an old friend immediately. The resort is far enough away to feel like a retreat but close enough to the town to walk in., there is transport if you want. The taxi back from the town is £5 GP pounds. The Sedir has bikes to rent, but it is a lot cheaper to rent them from in town.

The apartments are clean and functional, 6 have balcony’s and 3 on the top floor do not. Apartments 3 and 6 are ones that have the best location. There can be a smell of raw sewage around the apartments at certain times, not pleasant if you decide to eat your breakfast on the balcony. The apartments are ideally suited for 2 adults and 2 children. A main bedroom plus a pull out bed/settee in the kitchen/living area. You will not spend much time in the apartment as the swimming pool and bar area are the best thing about the Sedir.

Baki and his sons Orcun and Barkin can speak excellent English, they serve at the bar and only to willing to answer any questions you may have. It has a very nice swimming pool, only let down by fellow quests not showering before entering the pool. This left a dirty looking mark on the tiles by midday, but soon removed by the following morning.

The bar area serves as a breakfast area . The breakfast is a typical Turkish but a bit on the expensive side. The prices for drinks, snacks and evening meal are all in GB pounds. The prices are above what you would pay in UK in a good pub, especially snacks and soft drinks. Paying in pounds is convenient if not wishing to pay in Turkish liras. Paying Turkish Liras for you bills can increase the price or reduce it depending on the days exchange rate. It may not seem a lot. But is it easy to spend a lot of money at the Sedir as Baki allows you pay your bill at the end of your holiday.

As mentioned one of the family will run you into town. Here you will find many good restaurants with very good Turkish food. Average meal and beer will cost you around £10 and street food about £4. You will also find many boats offering trips The prices can vary so shop around and “Haggle” to get a deal to have the boat to yourself…. Pay in Lira. The beach is some distance from the town and not up to much. Do not come to Dalyan if you are after a beach holiday, you will be very disappointed. Dalyan town is fast loosing its charm as it has to many bars and restaurants .

The Sedir resort is a nice escape with a nice family atmosphere. The Turkish people are very friendly and hospitable and will make you welcome.

“A fabulous holiday made by the fantastic Sedir Resort - Baki and Filiz”

Found the Sedir Resort on the internet and seeing all of the fantastic comments decided to book at this point I was still expecting it was too good to be true - but no all of these lovely comments and correct. A wonderful place for a relaxing holiday (even with small children), made by the fabulous hospitality of Baki and Filiz. Almost decided not to do a review as almost want to keep it a secret!

It is in a beautiful setting and spotlessly clean, the homemade breakfast are lovely as are the dinners, we only went into town one evening as we enjoyed our evenings so much at Sedir.

Dalyan itself is also lovely, the boat trip to the beach is approx 45 mins was a bit unsure with children but it was a lovely way to travel and the children loved the boat ride.

If you want a relaxing holiday in a beautiful place then this is for you.

“Came with a friend last year, this bringing a dozen friends ...love the place!”

I loved my stay at Sedir Resort. My friend had been going there for years and decided to share this holiday hideaway. The owner and his family are great, you feeling like an old friend immediately. The resort is far enough away to feel like a retreat but close enough to the town to walk in... but there is transport if you want. The beaches in the area are stunning. There are large well maintained public beaches and charming secluded little coves. This year we are going back again but bringing friends, some secrets are too good to keep to yourself!
