“Everything is great except the food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 May 2010

It was a one night stopover for the 6 of us. It seems very popular with families and children and although the kids were running around and making a lot of noise, it was only in the evening and through dinner that they did. The din did not continue into the night.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. When we requested for extra pillows, the receptionist even called to double check if the pillows came. They were also always greeting us and asking if everything was alright whenever we pass by the reception.

Wifi is free and did not require a password. It was very stable and relatively fast.

Our rooms were on the second floor and each of the rooms had a balcony overlooking the pool. We could climb over the balcony to one another's rooms because of the low wall.

The pool is not big but it is not a big deal because the beach is very close by. The beach has amazingly clear water and gravel instead of sand. The view is magnificent and we would have loved to hang out there if we had more time.

Food is really the worst thing about this hotel. For dinner, the salad bar is free flow buffet style and we were served a choice of meatballs or chicken for main course. We were also served two huge plates of spaghetti with a dollop of ketchup to be shared among the 6 of us. Dessert was rice pudding and water was complimentary. The apples were not very fresh. Breakfast selection was quite bare, only traditional Turkish breakfast available. The bread was cold and hard.

The rooms are cozy and CNBC was available in English so there were American TV series we could watch.

Overall I would say this is a great stay if only the food could be improved.

“Great family place!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2006

On recommendation from friends, we went to the Assos Park hotel and unlike the other reviewer we enjoyed our experience very much!

We left Istanbul by public long distance bus heading down to Ephesus. Assos is somewhere in the middle between Istanbul and Ephesus so it makes for a nice stop over for a night or two (we stayed for 2 nights).

The Assos Park Hotel is a family place so if you have kids, you and they will enjoy it. The hotel manager is a delightful man who drove us himself to the Site of the Assos ruins, when we got hustled later in the day by a so called “tour guide/taxi driver”, the manager called the owner of the tour agency and let him have it for trying to abuse tourist.

The food was fantastic and the staff was very accommodating….the staff does not speak much English so you need to ask for the manager who will jump hoops to make you happy.

We had a very nice room overlooking the pool and a wide view of olive trees all around.

Many of the guests are educated Turkish families who keep coming back again and again…..so if you really want to be in contact with Turkish people (as opposed to being in a Western resort with other tourists) this is the right place.

“Hated it!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2006

We just came back from a holiday in ASOS, Turkey, 13 August 2006.

However I do not advise anyone to go and stay in the hotel called Assos Park Hotel, near Kadirga Beach. Apart from the waiters, the staff at the reception is extremely unhelpful.

They have got some rooms at the top floor, which are awfully uncomfortable. To be able to go to the balcony you have to on your fours and crawl! Watch out, they charge the same amount of money for this room, comparing to the normal rooms. Also if you want a quiet holiday keep away from the hotel. There are too many families with noisy children. I must also warn you that there is a live, but noisy music played every evening all throughout the evening meal till midnight. You have no chance of having a peaceful meal. And the same music and songs are repeated every evening.

The food. Same breakfast every morning. The cold food (meze) is the same every evening. Quality is OK. But the food supposed to come warm usually comes warmish. Kitchen and serving staff rushed off their feet. They have been exploited badly. They even sleep by the swimming pool after midnight. Cheap labour!
No customer care! Worst of all, when my husband got ill with sunstroke let alone calling a doctor for us they didn't even have a phone number for a doctor. They just shrugged their shoulder and turned their back.

Try finding a different place if you want to have a HOLIDAY!

  • Liked — The hotel was very close to the Kadirga Beach
  • Disliked — Staff at reception were exteremly unhelpful and dull. There was no customer care at all
  • Tips/Secrets — Don't go there if you don't want to spoil your holiday

“Interesting hotel, off the beaten track”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 June 2005

Assos Park Hotel is a couple of kilometres from the Assos/Behramkale township and ruins, back along the coast. It is a pleasant four-star hotel, with comfortable rooms, a lovely pool and outdoor dining area, and access to its own "beach", with sun lounges. Not being at all unkind, this is a very Turkish hotel. Very little English was spoken by staff, but the food (Turkish) is superb. Wine is very expensive ($40 Australian for a half bottle of wine). Will suit people who want to experience the places that well-off locals would go to. Could be a bit noisy in the height of summer (it is adjacent to a camping ground), but quiet enough when we were there in early June.
