A super place - friendly owner and staff, good breakfast and spotless rooms with great view from balconies! Roof garden also gave us lots of entertainment watching the Indian eagles building their nest.
Only criticism (not of the place, but of Kovalam) was the frequent power cuts - so you often woke up in the night sweating because the A/C or fan had cut out.

We booked this place after checking the reviews on tripadvisor itself and were not disappointed at all. Although this is a hotel, but the owner Ian personally receives all his guests and gives you tips on the great eating joints. You even get discounts at a few places when you mention you are staying here. When we went to one of the places he suggested, he was having dinner at the same place.He came up to us and offered to take a picture. These little things make your trip and stay much more enjoyable.

The rooms are very clean and spacious.The sleep quality is really good.There is a little problem with the water though. Its all yellow. Dont know if this is the water color all over Kovalam.

And they have a dog. It does not really bark though.

Situated just 5 minutes from Lighthouse beach, Greenshore made our first stay in Kovalam and Kerala, really excellent. Everyone there was friendly. The room was clean and spacious with a fan and air-conditioning. Rooms were cleaned regularly and the rooftop terrace provided nice breakfast and coffee, beach restaurants are really close for evening meals. The managers were really helpful and helped us to find a driver for the rest of our stay in Kerala. Thanks!

Our entire experience at Kovalam was excellent, thanks in a large part to the Greenshore Apartments. The British owners and their local staff are friendly and helpful; the local staff even swiftly dismissed our auto driver who hounded us all the way to the hotel for more money.

The room had a TV, ample hot water and a large balcony with super comfortable chairs to take in the sea view. The property's location is also fantastic, 5 minutes walk to a deserted, pristine swimming beach, 5 minutes to the restaurant strip at Lighthouse beach and set back just far enough from the road that the noise didn't reach the rooms. It's also worth noting that one of the few general stores (water, snacks, chai, etc) in Kovalam is right at the front entrance of the hotel, so you're never in need of anything.

In short; a perfect experience that is completely worth the relatively steep (by Indian standards) price.
