We stayed at the River Raven once before, and had a great experience. When I return to a place I really enjoyed, I worry if it will live up to my memories. No need to worry when it comes to the Kenai River Raven. We were welcomed back like returning family. Stevie and Dick are such warm loving people, that you immediately feel like home.
The Raven is just as I remember it to be. I would like my house to be nearly as clean. I would defy anyone to find a spec of dirt, despite its location right on the Kenai River. When I mentioned this to Dick, he told me of the pains they take to keep the rooms spotless, including washing all the bedding (including quilt, blankets and mattress pad) after each guest leaves. Stevie personally inspects each room before any guest arrives.
If you want to fish, Stevie and Dick will set you up with guides. We did this twice, and had great fishing. On this trip, it was cold, and the river was low. The guides could not get the boat all the way to shore for us to get on. Suddenly, there were two men there giving us piggy back rides to the boat, so we didn’t get our shoes wet. I have a neck problem and had trouble casting. Rubin, the guide, was always at my side to help. We couldn’t have had a more fun experience. If you want to see nature, they will tell you the best locations for spotting bear, moose, or whatever you want to see.
I could just go on and on about this place. I have read the last review of this quaint B & B, and am shocked by the impressions left by the reviewer. If you choose to stay here, you will not regret it.
