Kodiak is quite small, with limited accommodations--unless you wish to stay in a hunting/wilderness lodge. So, although the prices were high, there's not much competition. The parking lot is limited and crowded--expect to park on the street (but, it's not metered and street parking is plentiful if you don't mind a bit of a walk). It's several stories (maybe 3?) but the elevator is almost always out of order, so expect to use the stairs. The whole place feels a bit dated, but in a quaint way--it's a bit dark (in color and feeling), with a trend towards hunting (stuffed birds, bears and random heads decorate the main area--but that's expected considering it's Kodiak). The rooms are small, with a musty smell, but not overly dirty. The one thing I really enjoyed here was the restaurant--there's a variety of food and it's not completely unreasonably priced. I wouldn't avoid this place again, but I wouldn't particularly look forward to it either.
