I was stuck in Juneau because Alaska Air had a mechanical problem. They picked the hotel and paid for it. So, I guess, for me, the price was right.
It was supposed to be a nonsmoking room, but the smell of stale smoke kept waking me up, even with the window wide open. To be fair, my friend who had the room next to mine said her's wasn't smelly. I know could have asked for a different room. But it was late and I was tired.
One good thing, the hotel is not pretentious. A lot of hotels will have a worthless product they call conditioning shampoo. The Super 8 bottle said, straight up, that it was just shampoo. I'll use that as my metaphor for the hotel. Nothing fancy. You get what you pay for. It was nice to have a window that opens widely so I could hear the blustery wind of Juneau.
The staff was pleasant, and friendly. That's why I gave it 3 stars instead of fewer. Also, it is very convenient to the airport. Just a 5 minute ride and they have an airport shuttle.
