We stayed at Driftwood Lodge twice during our SE Alaska adventure in August this year and have nothing but positive comments for this lodge and its staff . We were not expecting 5 star accomodation but our rooms on both occasions were clean and well equipped and the location was great. What was even better was the friendliness of the staff and in particular how accomodating they were with the free shuttle. THe fact that you are able to store your luggage while you were off on short trips was such a bonus too. Loved it and would certainly recommend it for travellers including families looking for a clean, honest and friendly place to base yourself in Juneau !!

We spent 2 nights at the Driftwood Lodge in early August. There is free pickup from the airport included in price. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Driftwood is a short walk to downtown - very convenient. They rent bikes which we took advantage of and rode out to Mendenhall Glacier. (nice ride, fairlly flat) On the way back from Skagway they allowed us to keep our luggage in a room for a few hours before we went to the airport. It was fine for the price.

We started our Alaska journey on August 24 at the Driftwood Lodge. We traveled then to Haines and Skagway and back to Juneau and the Driftwood for 2 more nights. What an enjoyable and great time we had. The room was clean and comfortable and just what we needed. The whole staff was wonderful. The shuttle people picking us up were so helpful i with their city info. The desk people were courteous and even more helpful getting us around the city. June was an awesome help and so friendly. It is so nice to meet such great people when you are far away in a strange town. We will only stay here when we hopefully return someday.

This old place has seen better days and could do with a bit of brightening up. Staff friendly and helpful and good location. Pick up service for ferry and flights great. We had 2 separate nights here, the first night we asked for a room change as we were next to the office and people were continually smoking outside our room, it smelt like a smoking lounge! Our room had a dreadful bed hard and lumpy, our second night we were again on the ground floor this time better bed, same dingy dank style room. The people in the room next door smoked, spat! And talked out side our room until about 10 pm. See my review of our other Juneau accommodation.
