We stayed at Black Bear Bed and Breakfast for 2 nights for our anniversary Dec 21-23. We were looking for an out of the way spot for some much needed peace and quiet (also had previous pleasant experiences in the Hope are many years ago). This accommodation exceeded out expectations. Maggie is very nice and made us feel welcome and at home (as well as some of her neighbors we met when we arrived). Our stay was in a beautiful cabin that is well appointed and situated in a "off the beaten path" location (quiet) on Resurrection Creek road. It was spacious, very clean and has both a heater and a wood stove for those seeking a crackling fire after a day of skiing. The log bed with a memory foam mattress was a welcome addition for these old bones. It is very close to the Resurrection Creek Trail which provides beautiful skiing (which we did) and hiking opportunities along this historic gold mining trail. The 12 inches of fresh powder overnight certainly added to the charm. If you are looking for nightlife and fine dining opportunities this may not be the place for you. However, If you are into breathtaking scenery, peace and quiet, and outdoor recreation, a side trip to Hope and Black Bear B&B should definitely be on your itinerary. We will certainly be returning in the future for some much needed serenity.
