We stayed a week this time and like before, it was wonderful. The leaves were beautiful and the weather was perfect everyday, sun and blue sky. Hope is a hidden treasure if you like quiet and nature. And of course there is The Discovery Cafe (Tito's) and their pie!!!! But what makes this trip to the Black Bear so special is Maggie. You cannot begin to rate her hospitality, cozy fires and friendship. Thanks Maggie!

We had one night here on our September 2011 trip and i'm so glad i listened to trip advisor. Our cabin was amazing and secluded. It was beautiful and homely inside, with cute bears dotted here and there. My main thought is that you could live there; there was a deck outside,with rocking chair and grill (perfect for a bbq for dinner). Inside it was a huge open plan livingroom, dining room and kitchen. The bedroom and bathroom were on the ground floor and upstairs were 2 more single beds. If it's rainy or you just want to stay snug inside there's a bunch of movies to relax with too. The sooner you get out of Anchorage and find little gems like this the better.

Hope and The Black Bear B&B was our last stop on our 10 day vacation in Alaska. As soon as we got there, we wished we had another 10 days just in Hope. The Black Bear is by far the nicest B&B we stayed at on our trip. An incredible value for this clean, beautifully decorated cabin. If you like secluded and quiet, this it your place! We loved Hope, and our stay at Maggie's B&B! I'd also recommend the Seaview Cafe and Bar in Hope. It was also the best place we ate (and drank) in Alaska. I would love to return, and spend a week just here. We really wished we had had time for Maggie's Hope tour too!

If you are looking for an amazing cabin to stay somewhere between anchorage and homer why not stop in at the Black Bear B n B in Hope.
Set in the thick of a forest we felt like we were the only people out there, very romantic. Maggie the owner was great and made us very welcome, she has put her character into this lovely place. We instantly felt at home as we opened the door.
I was grilling ribeye steaks on the porch looking out for bears and moose. Didn't see any but the thought that we may have at anytime was great.
We would definitely go back if we returned o Alaska.
