Coyote Bend is a little known gem of Homer. It is run by Kim and Gordan Terpening, local artists. They have a suite at the end of their house that they rent. Didn't see it, can't say anything about it. They also have the Cottage, tucked away on a secluded corner of their property. The cottage consists of a dining area, a living room, a full kitchen, a bedroom and a bath with a skylight and a full size TUB ! Oh, yes, it also has a loft that could sleep two. In addition, it has a wrap around deck, complete with 4 comfortable padded chairs and a nice Weber gas grill. You cannot see Kim & Gordan's house from the cottage, so you fell alone in Alaska. (For us, that was a good thing.) It has a TV & phone. The cottage had flower beds and hanging baskets. We stayed for three nights and were visited by mommy and baby moose all three mornings. In fact we had to shoo one mother out of Kim's flowers, they came so close. There was a welcoming bouquet on the dining table and biscotti in the fridge that Gordan had made. The place is high on a "hill" just before getting to Homer, on the way out to Skyland Drive. It's a bit tricky to find, but a friendly neighbor directed us. If you want solitude and comfort at a rediculously low price, I suggest you stay at Coyote Bend!
