“we loved it, no city noise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2010

we had a large party who stayed in both the house and the tulip cabin, upper and lower units. the tulip cabins are small, but we knew that before we came. owners installed a new hot water system, so we had plenty of hot water. the breakfast in the house was awesome. The tulip cabin had eggs, milk and muffins, and cereal. (make you own).
Had a moose and two calves coming through the yard during breakfast. was that ever cool.

“Have to wait for hot water”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2010

It perhaps is the least favorable B&B we stayed in Alaska entire trip. (We stayed in 2 different B&Bs in Anchorage and 1 more in Seward.)

Generally speaking, the room is clean which is the most important thing for us. But the biggest drawback is you have to wait for the hot water which only servers one longer shower or 2 short ones. It needs perhaps 40 minutes to get hot water for another round. Consider the weather condition in Alaska, hot water is quite vital. Besides, it's not close to Homer downtown. If you want to have most things in walking distance, it might not be the best location.

“For Homer, a good price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2009

We stayed for several days and enjoyed our tiny cabin. It was comfortable and clean with handmade quilts on the beds. The bathroom is very (!) tiny and we had constant problems with the shower which was in need of some TLC and new hardware. Overall, it was one of our favorite places we stayed. Internet was good, but TV only had a few channels and worked about 80% of the time.

“A Nice B&B”

We stayed at the West room for a night with lovely views of the volcano from the bedroom window. A neat and clean place with a great breakfast. Marcia prepared a lovely peach cobbler dish for us vegetarians. Would certainly recommend this place if you want to spend some time in Homer.

“Holland Days Bed & Bkfst - home sweet home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2003

This bed & bkfst is located just outside of Homer. We stayed in the Dutch Iris Cabin. It provided comfortable accommodations for our family of 4 - with room to spare. A tiny living area, large kitchen/fridge/microwave, bathroom/shower, downstairs bedroom with a queen bed and a large loft with 4 beds and a sink. Kids stayed upstairs in the loft and enjoyed their "own space". (The stairs are quite steep - would not recommed for very young kids even though there is a safety gate at the top). We enjoyed our privacy downstairs. The only drawback is the bathroom - it has poor ventilation and the shower has "on demand" hot water so it took a while to "balance" a proper temperature. Not anything that would keep us from returning though! The cabin provides privacy and the location is so peaceful. Ample parking right outside your cabin. It's just a short walk to the main house where breakfast is served by wonderful hosts (Al and Marcia). THIS PLACE PROVIDED THE MOST AWESOME BREAKFASTS OF OUR ENTIRE 14 DAYS IN ALASKA. Everything is homemade and generous portions. Most important - delicious! Their pecan waffles were terrific - we are still craving them! If you have to go for an early halibut fishing trip, they will pack a sack breakfast that appears to have enough food for three people!! You won't go hungry at this place. Hosts were very nice. Enjoy!
