“Our New 'Home away from Home' in Homer”

This was our first stay in the Good Karma Inn, and was truly wonderful. First we were greeted by Michael and Sophie, with a handshakes, smiles and tail wags all around(did I mention Sophie is a dog?), and we were made to immediately feel very welcome. And what a beautiful home that Michael has built. An awesome view of Kachemak Bay, spectacular artwork, and very comfy rooms. We stayed in the handicap access room, which is very user friendly. Also during our stay, we 'shared' the yard with moose, sandhill cranes, and a wonderful family of grouse, which we waited for on the driveway for about 20 minutes while mom and 4 'grouselings' finally decided to allow us to pass. Michael is very knowledgeable of the area, plus much fun to talk to about all issues great and small. We have family in Homer, and look very much to staying at the Good Karma Inn during future visits .

“Thanks Michael for a great stay.”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Good Karma Inn. Michael was a great host and recommended two very good restaurants and points of interest in the Homer area. We stayed in the "Mindfulness" suite - a very comfortable and nicely furnished room with a spectacular view of Kachemak Bay and Kenai Mountains. We have stayed in many B & Bs throughout the Northwest and Alaska and Good Karma Inn rates right up with the best of them. Fixing our own breakfast was not an issue with us. Michael was there to "orchestrate" the meal by telling us where the cooking utensils were located, etc. Michael designed and built the beautiful log home with ADA in mind. Thanks Michael for a great stay.

“Best of the best”

I've traveled to 29 countries on 5 continents and stayed in every type of facility imaginable. Good Karma Inn is without doubt the very best I have experienced. Michael has a wonderful B&B. The "house" is an artwork in itself, being an excellent example of a Scandinavian scribe log house. And the insides are furnished with wonderful art that is of museum quality. The bedrooms were extremely comfortable and amply furnished with everything one could want or need. Besides all the offerings, Michael is the consummate host and full of information of the goings-on of the area. He advised us of equally wonderful restaurants and trips in the area and even made reservations for us. AND, on our exit he used his industry connections to try to find us accommodations at our next destination. The yard was full of beautiful flowers, a friendly moose, sandhill cranes flying by and the most lucious scenes of the bay. It was hard to go to sleep with the alpenglow across the bay and on the mountains. During our stay there were other guests at different times. All viewed Michael as family and often revisited. We shall also do so when we return to Homer again. In the meantime, all of our traveler friends will get a recommendation to stay at the Good Karma Inn. It certainly lives up to its name.

Room Tip: Simply ask Michael for this. All the rooms we saw were of equal quality.

“Michael was a great host!”

This was our first trip to Homer. Michael gave us advise for seeing moose and we did. His home is beautiful and what a pleasure to spend our 2 nights there. The location can't be beat as you look out over the 3 glaciers he points out. We sat on the deck in the evening and looked out in awe of the beauty. Sofie was there to make us smile with her wonderful warm personality and ability to protect us from any animal daring to come to close. Whenwe return to Homer we will stay with Michael again, this time for a few more nights. Thank you Michael for being such a wonderful host!
