We unfortunately stayed at this motel in Homer. Looking at the ads, it looked pleasant enough, but they were misleading. The view is incredible, but this old run down motel has a musty smell inside the super cramped rooms, with old ugly brown 1950 era metal cabinets in the kitchenette with a vintage metal shower. The super tiny tv had only six channels, even though they advertised HBO! The bed was very small as well, with a pillow about as thick as a pancake. Heat was provided by a space heater, placed underneath a desk where the chair is supposed to go, which certainly wouldn't pass any fire codes. Their continental breakfast is the biggest joke of all. They place the food outside on a covered deck of a little shed, with the bare minimum. No fruit or muffins, just cold cereal/milk, a toaster for toast/bagels, coffee, and yogurt and creamed cheese that is just placed on a wooden shelf that is not cooled (not on ice or anything) that sits out from 5am-11am. This practice wouldn't pass anyone's health regulations. It's very obvious they run the place on the cheap, even though they charge about $130/night. The room they show in their ad is their "suite" which has been somewhat refurbished, but the rest of the rooms are cramped musty smelling dumps. Best case scenario at this place would be to camp in your own tent out on their lawn to enjoy the gorgeous view, while bringing your own food.....in a cooler.......and not entering the rooms. (but no camping permitted :)
