“Wonderful stay”

Won the Denali Road Lottery and spent two nights in one of the three very pleasant cabins as our base camp. Two queen beds were comfortable and kitchen had all the supplies which allowed us to cook the food we brought and eat what we wanted when we wanted. Comfortable for two adults and two kids. 100+ cable channels were a temptation for the boys, but we played cards instead once the sun had set. Owners were very helpful and pleasant . Location is about 10 miles north of Denali Park entrance, so away from all the congestion and "Glitter Gulch" shops...we enjoyed the quiet and the nice views from the deck. Very limited grocery options near-by, so best to bring your own food with you, if you are driving in your own vehicle. The "Glitter Gulch" shops were mostly touristy stuff, but the shops in the park had some nicer items. We will definitely stay here again when we return.

We stayed at the Alaska Spruce Cabins during our visit to the Denali National Park this month. The cabins were very neat, well organized and we always had what we needed. It was perfect for the four of us. The owners were very friendly and provided some of the best customer service we have seen anywhere else. I misplaced my cell phone and they were so nice to mail it to us and made sure we received it in perfect condition! We would definitely recommend them to anyone who is travelling to Denali.

“You'll think your window is a poster”

The owner of this place is really nice, and the service is good.

The cabins are 100% full service -- full kitchen with range, microwave, silverware, dishes, etc. They also provide shampoo, soap and towels in the bathroom. I wish we had known this before leaving so we could have packed lighter, but that's not really a complaint. We just didn't think cabins came this way.

The view from this property is 100% amazing. The cabin itself was extremely comfortable, very homey, very clean, and nicer than many hotels I've been to.

My only complaints are that (a.) it might be a hair on the pricey side (we paid about $130/night - many cabins can be had for $79-$99; I'd assume they don't provide the same level of service), and has it has no Internet access.

Before I get flamed for wanting Internet service while visiting Denali National Park:

1. Many cabins near Denali provide WiFi.
2. We obviously did not want to spend hours on the Internet, but it would have been nice to be able to, for example, look up phone numbers, directions and check in for our flight online.

But WiFi is available various places around Denali anyway. Those very, very minor quibbles aside, awesome place. Next time we go to Denali, I imagine we'll stay there again.

“Relaxing, friendly & peaceful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2010

We stayed with Doug & Terra at the end of our visit to Alaska and our stay with them was the perfect ending to a wonderful trip. The cabins are great and located about 15 minutes away from all of the tour buses, hotels and activity that surround the entrance to Denali. But the best part of our four night stay was how Terra went out of her way to make us feel welcome. She even helped us dinner one night!

“Home away from home with all the creature comforts you need.”

We really liked 'getting away from it all' at Alaska Spruce Cabins. The cabins are roomy and include a fully-equipped kitchen. We picked up groceries in Fairbanks (at the great Fred Meyers) and enjoyed making breakfast & dinner in our cabin. The cabin is convenient to Denali. We even made multiple trips to the park in a day, coming back to the cabin to eat and rest (and get work done) and going back to the park in the evening. I would definitely recommend this place to both couples and families alike.
