“Thank Goodness for Lake Louise Lodge”

On the Sunday before Christmas, my husband, two young children, and myself traveled to Lake Louise to stay at our family cabin thru Christmas. When we got to the lake, the weather was terrible, sunny - but close to -30 below, and too rough to travel with young children, so while my husband traveled to our cabin, the kids and i bedded down for the night at the lodge. It really is a beautiful lodge...our room had two nice double beds and an additional fold out bed if needed, the log ceiling in the room was gorgeous and it had plenty of space for snowmaching gear and luggage. The bathroom, though it had a dropped ceiling, was super cute and had a huge tub. The main lodge has a restraunt and bar - smoke free, and was pet friendly. Over the course of the week - the weather worsened and i ended up calling the owners on friday to let them know we were leaving our cabin in the midst of the terrible cold....both of our snowmachines had broken down at one point, so we were nervous about traveling with the kids in that weather, our oil stove wasnt working well and our generator had finally quit.....The lodge owners, on Christmas Day, opened for our family so that we could get in out of the cold...they jumped our vehicle (battery was dead due to the cold), and made sure that we were all warmed before we left for Anchorage. We are very greatful for their hospitality and friendliness. I would recommend this lodge to anyone hoping for an Alaskan adventure for the whole family!

Small, well-maintained and friendly lodge on beautiful Lake Louise. The fall colors and sunsets were amazing. The staff were friendly and the food was excellent. Rooms small but not cramped. Wake to loons at sunrise.

“Not much lodge about it...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2010

First of all, be sure to get room# 3, 4 or 5 overlooking the lake.

Rooms 1 and 2 have a small sauna, but are so dark and unusable that it made us change our reservation upon arriving to room #3.

A dinner main course is 30 USD.

No host to great you, no feeling welcome. If you wanted, you could hang out at the bar where the host seemed to be more interessted in selling beer than taking care of you.

The kitchen help was the one to greet us, and played her "I'm sorry, I am only the kitchen help, so I don't know all around this areas yet"-act.

Really, we just look forward to sleep, and leave.

“Terrific place to stay, reasonably priced, extra clean, well decorated!”

Lodge is in a remote spot, 45 miles from the nearest city. Quiet with a terrific view of the lake from every room. We had two rooms, both had a balcony overlooking the lake. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. We had a breakfast and evening meal at the Lodge and they were both excellent. The rooms were very clean and not your typical hotel rooms. They were tastefully decorated with themed walls and matching decorations. I will stay here again on my next Alaska visit.

my mates and i had just completed a weeks fishing at seward and on the kenai river . we wanted to drive into the interior to check out valdeez and glenallen. because it was abusy time and being in australia we could not ask anyone where to stay, weused trip advisor. we inquired and got aquick repley to our questions. we duly booked and when we arrived were pleasently surprised. wehad great weather which made the views better.the owners were warm and friendly. we quickly settled into homestyle food and cold beer. next morning before heading for valdeez, we booked another night. we enjoyed a few drinks with acouple of locals and learnt about the fishing, animals and culture.it might not be five star but its warm and friendly.
