On the Sunday before Christmas, my husband, two young children, and myself traveled to Lake Louise to stay at our family cabin thru Christmas. When we got to the lake, the weather was terrible, sunny - but close to -30 below, and too rough to travel with young children, so while my husband traveled to our cabin, the kids and i bedded down for the night at the lodge. It really is a beautiful lodge...our room had two nice double beds and an additional fold out bed if needed, the log ceiling in the room was gorgeous and it had plenty of space for snowmaching gear and luggage. The bathroom, though it had a dropped ceiling, was super cute and had a huge tub. The main lodge has a restraunt and bar - smoke free, and was pet friendly. Over the course of the week - the weather worsened and i ended up calling the owners on friday to let them know we were leaving our cabin in the midst of the terrible cold....both of our snowmachines had broken down at one point, so we were nervous about traveling with the kids in that weather, our oil stove wasnt working well and our generator had finally quit.....The lodge owners, on Christmas Day, opened for our family so that we could get in out of the cold...they jumped our vehicle (battery was dead due to the cold), and made sure that we were all warmed before we left for Anchorage. We are very greatful for their hospitality and friendliness. I would recommend this lodge to anyone hoping for an Alaskan adventure for the whole family!
