Stayed here for two nights on a two week tour of Alaska, felt very at home with the hosts.
The suite is kinda like a private cabin, where Gail and John provide everything you need, but never make you feel as being in a B&B, your privacy is well respected.
Am confident that it's the best alternative lodging option in Girdwood, compared to the Alyeska resort.

Staying with Gail, John and Koda was absolutely one of the best experiences I have ever had. My son and I stayed here while we fished the wonderful State of Alaska. As we sat on the "delayed" plane to return to Houston, my son said how he wished we were walking up the steps to our wonderful bedrooms at Timberline. I have already started working on a return trip for next year. The bedrooms are wonderfully comfortable and, most importantly for people that arise so very early for fishing trips, it is so quiet. The kitchen is equipped for a quick breakfast or, if you are so inclined, you can prepare a full meal. The atmosphere is so relaxing and so beautiful and even the other guests in the adjoining suite were great. In the town of Girdwood there is a five star restaurant you simply have to dine in - don't miss it. Then you can pan for gold in the nearby mine. You can sit in the hot tub and love the surroundings. Here, you are located close enough to Anchorage for an easy drive to enjoy all that city has to offer. You have probably gathered by now that I love this place and cannot wait to return.

Gail and John are great hosts. Beautiful home, attentive service, a welcome feeling that you enjoy from the beginning to the end of your stay. Simply great! The only point to criticise may be the fact that the house is darkened by lots of outside trees that take the natural daylight in front of the windows away.

The apartment - really half of a house - was comfortable and had more amenities than most hotels. To say that they provided food for breakfast was an understatement. The owners were very friendly and helped us with suggestions on everything we needed. They made us feel like friends. We want to go back, but this time skip the cruise beforehand. Thanks so much, hopefully we will be back!
