“Cant wait to return!”

We drove a short distance, maybe 20min from Fairbanks and arrived at this wondeful B and B. Pascale was a great host and the accomodations were very comfortable and clean. She offered to cook dinner for a reasonable price and it was delicious. The house wonderful and a great view from the backyard. It was fun sharing the northern lights with other guests, one who was kind enough to wake us up by tapping on our bedroom window at 330am to alert us to the wonderful display. The dog sledding was great fun..A little chilly in February but worth the frozen toes!
Cant wait to return!

“Plan to return”

We stayed at the lodge for four days over Christmas, and it was fantastic!

Pascale and Tony were great hosts, and did what they could to make our stay enjoyable.

Pascale picked us up from our hotel in downtown Fairbanks and returned us safe and sound. There is a charge for this service, but well worth it considering the alternative is to rent a car.

We enjoyed the Northern Lights; Pascale even went so far as to prod us to go outside when they were particularly beautiful. certainly beats waiting outside in the cold.

Tried dog mushing for the first time; on the first day we went on a small (5 mile?) loop near the lodge to learn the basics. On the second day, we went on an overnight trip to the Tanana river with the dogs.
Very safe, warm, and well fed. Tony was our guide both times; he traveled on a snow machine and stopped every so often to make sure we weren't in any trouble; came in handy once when my wife fell off the runners and the dogs kept running. The dogs are well cared for, although a long trip can prove tiring because you have to stand on the runners or run with the dogs on some uphills. I recommend at least trying it.

I introduced my wife to snow shoeing while there as well and we went on a few mile walk along the dog mushing loop one afternoon. Pascale provided us with two sets of snowshoes.

Very rustic setting. Currently, the lodge is off the grid so power is provided by a generator; satellite TV and cell phones connect you to the outside world though I prefer the isolated feeling of the lodge; I understand that electricity will be extended out to the area in 2004.

Meals are included in your stay, though the menu is limited as you can expect with only ~5 guest rooms. Our hosts were very accommodating as far as food allergies, dislikes or what have you. Some guests from Japan cooked for themselves during their stay, so it is worth asking about.
