“AMAZING!”

We just returned from our first visit to the Cook Islands! We got married at the Aitutaki Lagoon Resort and Spa, and could not have asked for anything more of our wedding day. The Resort made us feel so special during our entire visit. It was such a stress-free process- which is how every wedding should be. Everything fell into place, and nothing could have went smoother. Mani and the staff really ensured we had exactly what we wanted/envisioned- especially since we traveled such a long distance for our wedding on the lagoon. The candlelight dinner for two was the best way to end our wedding day- with PLENTY of fine dining and wine. It was more than we could have ever imagined! From the moment we stepped onto the lagoon, the views and relaxed atmosphere was neverending. The staff were all extremely friendly. The entertainment varied daily, and we enjoyed the acitivities we participated in (fire dancing show, kayaking, crab races, cocktail social, etc.) We loved our beachfront bungalow, beautiful views to wake up to each morning, outdoor shower, and the breakfast was perfect for starting the day out on a beach- light pastries, fruits and juices. I would never think twice before returning again! Thank you Aitutaki- we miss you! Andy & Alecka

Room Tip: All have wonderful views of the Pacific- don't think you can go wrong.

Kia Orana Andy & Alecka,
Congratulations on your 2012 Wedding and Meitaki Atupaka for your positive feedback and comments in regards to your wedding and experience with us at The Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa.
The warmth and friendliness of the local people, the charm of the Cook Islands and the jaw-dropping beauty of your own private island afloat on Aitutaki Lagoon has made the wedding of your dreams come true.
We are very pleased to hear that you had a stress-free wedding and everything went well to what you envisioned, thank you for the appreciation of our Wedding Planner - Mani and his team of helpers
Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa offers a unique South Seas setting – a private island resort set directly on the World’s Most Beautiful Lagoon, an “AMAZING” wedding experience.
I’m glad to hear our Signature Romantic Candlelight Dinner set on one of our most secluded locations on our Private Island was a perfect way to end your wedding day.
It’s great to here our wide range of Activities and Entertainment on sea or land was enjoyed. Some of the most popular ones at the resort include kayaking to nearby uninhabited islands, outrigger canoe racing, snorkeling, pareu tying and the ever popular coconut show. In addition to the world famous Lagoon Cruise there is diving, big game fishing, bone fishing, golf, historical tours as well as the opportunity to explore our safe island at ones leisure.
Breakfast by the water with stunning views is a welcome first thing in the morning and our Tropical Breakfast focuses on our Local Seasonal Fresh Fruits.
Thank you once again for your review – we hope to be able to welcome you to The Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa in the near future, maybe even for your 1st Wedding Anniversary!

Kind regards

“Beautiful setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

This hotel has the most beautiful setting you can expect on the island. It is just breathtaking. If all you want is a great view, a nice beach and complete relaxation this is it for you. We stayed in the Premium Beach Bungalow which I thought was really nice although the bathroom needed an upgrade. But then again it was fine and I didn't spend my all day in the bathroom. Some of the other bungalow looked really tired though and I am glad we chose the Premium Beach Bungalow for that reason. Even the Overwater looked a bit tired from the outside. We stayed in an overwater in Bora Bora a few years back and I don't think the one in Aitutaki are really worth it. The view you get is much nicer from the Premium Beach Bungalows and it's not completely overwater, half of it is on land. There are no fish swimming underneath that you can feed etc... If you want the overwater experience I wouldn't recommend this place. It is way to expensive for what you get really. Food wise I thought the food was ok but because it wasn't busy both restaurant were not always open. So we left the island a couple of nights to go and eat elsewhere. There is a nice restaurant just accross on the mainland. Walking distance. The SPA is pretty average I wouldn't go back. All in all the hotel is not perfect but the view is worth every penny and I wouldn't stay anywhere else for that reason as it does have the best spot on the island.

Room Tip: Premium beach bungalow is the way to go.

“Ideal Honeymoon destination!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

We went to Aitutaki for our honeymoon and it was amazing! the pictures don't do it justice... the colour of the lagoon is out of this world. The resort is on its own private island, you must take a short ferry across to the resort and is set up as individual bungalows and they are all so romantic! We loved that we only saw a handful of tourists and that the resort has employed local staff. It has a relaxed feel about it. There are daily activities on the island and day trips the resort can arrange on the lagoon. It really is paradise.

“Best Lagoon on the Island!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

This place has without a doubt the best lagoon on the island!
If you are looking for a great beach, water and lagoon then this is the place to stay hands down! We got a chance to visit the Pacific Resort and their lagoon does not at all compare to the lagoon at ALR&S!
The food here however was not as good which was a shame because this really was the only thing lacking for us. We ate here once during our entire stay and found our selves dining at the Pacific Resort twice during our stay and once for lunch as the food there is much better as is the dining service. The drinks (cocktails) here were also a complete waste of money. We did however really enjoy the daily breakfast that is served as it offers a really nice array of items, fruit, juice and coffee. The rooms could use some renovating as it is obvious to see the last time this took place was long ago. However, they are very well maintained and kept very clean. We had a deluxe beach front bungalow and got a great view of the lagoon. Really it's the lagoon that makes this place the gem that it is. The private lagoon is just to die for. If you are looking for total relaxation then you can not go wrong here. Make sure to eat at the Koru Cafe which is right across the lagoon...the food there is just wonderful! My husband and I could not get enough of their seared tuna tapas.

Kia Orana “ChicTraveler1”

Meitaki for posting a review for our Resort.

I agree with you the Aitutaki Lagoon Resort has the best location on Aitutaki as it is the only resort directly on the famous Aitutaki Lagoon on its own private island.

I would have been happy to address any concerns you had about our menus while you were at the resort. We are continuously looking for ways and ideas to improve our menus and prominently feature local fresh ingredients in our cuisine as reflected with the abundance of fresh fruit on our tropical breakfast buffet.

Our resorts have a comprehensive refurbishment program. A regular review of our housekeeping procedures ensures that the room cleanliness standards are met at all times.

Our spacious Deluxe Beachfront Bungalow located on absolute beachfront upon the island’s pristine white sand shore with uninterrupted view of the Aitutaki Lagoon is indeed a great choice.

I am pleased to know that you had a wonderful holiday and we look forward to being able to welcome you back in the future.

“The most amazing place you could ever imagine to get married!”

I spent 10 nights in a beautiful beach front bungalow. The views overlooking the lagoon are amazing. During our stay, my fiancé and eloped and married on the beach. Mani, the events co-ordinator made the whole day so easy and it was an absolute dream come true. The location was breathtaking. I did not have to worry about a single thing on the day, Mani and his staff took care of everything, from my hair and make up, the photographer, to making sure there was always enough Moët! If you have ever dreamt of that dream tropical relaxing island getaway, or the most amazing picturesque place to marry, this is your island . Thankyou again to Mani and his wonderful staff.
