Barrow is a wonderful place, but accomodations are not spactacular. If you are staying in Barrow, this is the best place. Rooms are spacious and reasonably clean. However, it is kind of strange. Some things are given out generously and with others they are surprisingly stingy. Owners are a little strange, but again this is the best place in Barrow. Another plus is that is it only a block away from the airport terminal. An easy walk - although I went in the winter and the one block walk was at 20 below zero with a 30 mph wind - it was great!

We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Barrow. The King Eider Hotel couldn't have been more convenient as it is just a walk across the street from the airport. There is one SERIOUS problem with the hotel. Check out time is 10 AM and they have NO PUBLIC BATHROOMS!!!! We were fortunate to have a rental truck so could get out and about, but is your flight doesn't leave until 8:20 PM you need to find a place to use the toilet. Very, Very bad business!

Even though I only stayed here for a few nights, I thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely come back some time soon!

I have been to Barrow a few times before for business but I have never stayed at the King Eider. My wife and I decided to go somewhere different this year with our kids to spend Christmas. The staff was very informative and friendly over the phone. Booking was quick and easy compared to a few other hotels I have reserved with. Lobby is nicely decorated and very comfortable to sit around and have a chat or to warm up. I was surprised the rooms were so clean. I have been to other hotels and it smelled like an ashtray and I could see burnt marks on the curtains and sheets. Even though we did not see any polar bears or northern lights this trip was well worth it for the kids. They really enjoyed playing in the snow and it was an adventure itself driving in subfreezing tempuratures looking for wildlife. I would highly recommend the King Eider Inn for anyone heading to Barrow. I was very pleased with my experience.
