I booked this place for one night a few weeks ago. Not only was the whole process seamless (from the booking emails, to the airport pickup, to check-in) but these people are genuine and want to make sure you have a good time. The room was large and clean. There was a bit of a smell from cats that another guest had posted but that came and went. If I'm back in SJ, I'll definitely be back.

I have stayed in this B&B three times while in San Jose and it is the staff that makes this place so wonderful. This B&B is located down a small back street and is very easy to miss, but don't let the surroundings fool you. Both sections of the hotel are gated and I would recommend staying in the biggest room across the street from the reception area. They offer a nice breakfast and the staff is very attentive and helpful. This place is also located near a nice museum, is less than a five minute drive to the mall, and for those who would like to socialize, there are two bars on the same street. If you must stay in San Jose, stay here.

We recently completed our first trip to Costa Rica January 18-28, 2012. We decided to spend our first and last nights in San Jose. We stayed at Casa 69. This place is incredible! No its not super luxurious but it is very nice and clean. The rooftop has a deck that overlooks San Jose. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Also, they sent a driver to the airport to pick us up ($20)and bring us back for our departure. The room rate was $50. A great bargin ! If you need a place to stay your first or last day in Costa Rica, I would highly recommend Casa 69.

I recently stayed at Casa 69. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly, delightful. However the new owner Donna needs to work on her customer sevice skills. She is rather aloof and and disinterested. I don't require much other than a quick hello or a smile as I pass through and offer the same.
I do recommend asking for a room across the street as the cat urine odor from the plantings can be overwhelming. Especially during breakfast. The rooms are very clean and it is close to everything you might want in San Jose......
