Last night in Costa Rica, noisy hotel, hardly got any sleep. Small bed, doesn't really fit two.

We were warmly greeted and shown to our room after check in.. Room was good. Nice to have the restaurant inside the residential neighborhood hotel. Restaurant dinner service was indifferent. We left early the next day, so could not enjoy all the great plants in the patio. Breakfast was quite good.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again / recommend this place to friends and family.

Location - This is a great hotel in a great location if you want to be close to the center of San Jose and also have access to San Pedro - where the Mall and the University are. I would not recommend this hotel if you want to be close to the more gringo areas like Escazu or Rohrmoser (25 min drive), but you will pay more if you choose to stay there. We had great access to the National Theater and the Insect Museum, as well as the option to go on various tours.

Room - Our room was very nice and clean and I thought the bed was very comfortable. The hot water was great and the water pressure was also strong (which can be hard to find in Costa Rica). The temperature was also perfect with just a fan.

Hotel - I thought the design of the hotel was really charming because there was a garden patio / courtyard and a fountain in the restaurant. The staff was friendly and helpful and completely bilingual. We also had no issue with noise; it was really quiet while we were there.

Food - Amazing! The included breakfast was really good and complete (fruit, pastries, fruit juice, coffee, gallo pinto) and was served perfectly. The other meals were also delicious and well-executed.

Also, this is a great hotel to stay in if you are going to the Fiestas de Zapote, which were a lot of fun ;-)

I enjoyed my stay (2 nites) at Hotel Le Bergerac. I thought the staff were really nice and the rooms clean and cheerful. I slept great at this hotel both nites. I only had 2 issues: the hot water did not work in my room one nite so they had to move me. Then I had to move again b/c I couldn't breathe in that room because they had redone the floors and it smelled like glue. They moved me pronto though and apologized. Food was very good, breakfast included.
