My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel in January for one night and had a wonderful stay! Our flight was delayed and we sadly missed our first night, I called to tell the hotel we would only need one night and the staff were very helpful! When we arrived the next day, we checked in and were treated to our welcome cocktail which was nice. We were impressed with the rooms and the décor of the hotel, it is very beautiful! The location of this hotel is perfect, it is on a very pretty street and next to the Jade Museum. It was a short walk which crossed through a couple beautiful parks to the pedestrian corridor and the Gold Museum. We needed some help with transportation to our next destination, Arenal, and Alan was very very helpful! He was super helpful and provided superior service to us, giving us directions, providing information on car rentals and arranging private transportation to our next destination. We are very thankful for all of his help as it made our stay in San Jose very enjoyable. We will recommend this hotel to anyone that we know is planning a trip to Costa Rica!

Close enough to walk into the city centre, far enough away to be very quiet . The staff were very helpful. Our room was large with very comfortable beds, safe, and TV a large en-suite. The outside garden area with pool and fountains very pretty. The restaurant was very handy as we weren't up to going out but the food a little disappointing. They have computers for guest use free of charge, laundry and dry cleaning service and gift shop.

This hotel features charming rooms and common areas that appear to be of a bygone era, with tall ceilings, parquet floors, and fountains. Our "basic" room was clean and comfortable. Wi-Fi worked surprisingly well. Quite a bit of street noise though.

The staff is very helpful and courteous. The included breakfast is adequate but nothing special.

Location is good for access to the major cultural sites in San Jose, including the very good National Museum. Not so great for getting to and from the airport.

We were kept awake all night by various noises and flashing lights coming thru the doors transom window. The rooms other design flaws included horrific lighting from uncovered CFL bulbs, hard bed, thin walls and tired furniture. After a sleepless night we even got an accidental 6.30am wake up call to add insult to injury. Argh!
