We wanted to stay at Casa 69 but could not get a room there on the 3 nights we were looking for. A friend in Manuel Antonio (Costa Rica) suggested we stay at Kekoldi's. It's a great location just behind the Holiday Inn in downtown San Jose. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very clean. The only issue I had is that they put us in a room on the main floor right beside where they serve morning breakfast. and reception. At checkin we were told that room was quiet because it was not facing the road. Well it was not quite while breakfast was served because everyone in the hotel was talking and making noise and then when that was over the staff would be talking and making noise. We went out dancing each night so wanted to sleep in and were perturbed that we were misled about ours being a quiet room. Otherwise stay was pleasant and would go back but in an upstairs room. It was extra nice that they had a computer with internet we could use freely.

This hotel is very nice to stay. The rooms are light and spacious. We really liked the inside garden in which you can have your breakfast. The staff is verry friendly to arrange all the tours and transport you wish.

We flew in and out of San Jose on our recent trip to Costa Rica and chose to stay at Hotel Kekoldi for two nights total (one night at the beginning of the trip, one night at the end). The staff was very accommodating in arranging airport transportation for us, even when my flight was cancelled and rescheduled with delays. The staff (Leo in particular) was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a delightful breakfast in the garden both mornings. Our rooms were both clean, light, with bright decor and fresh flowers. Although the area right by the hotel isn't highly active, the hotel is walking distance to downtown. We would definitely come back and recommend it to others!

We stayed in the hotel with our kids for one day, and we were very happy with our choice. Breakfast in the garden was a pleasure for the kids.The rooms are modern and well decorated; the staff was very helpful, and it was very nice to come back from the city centre to the hotel. Jade and gold museum are at walking distance. It had a very good value for money.
