I specifically chose Hotel Torremolinos because of its swimming pool and hotel location. The hotel location is great, being walking distance from the main San Jose city park and the new national stadium. But most everything else about the hotel was not good. The swimming pool turned out to be cold, dirty and in need of water. The rooms and sleeping quality were poor at best. We had a great experience with an extremely helpful front desk person but I would say that there are better places to stay in San Jose.

The Manager Jerry Duran and his staff are very cooperative and would go out of their way to make you comfortable. Their complimentary breakfast needs some improvement. The neighborhood is quiet and taxis are available very quickly. Clemente is always on hand to take you around. My family and I enjoyed it there.

What more can I say than old blood stains and strands of hair on the cardboard box mattress that's supposed to serve as a bed. Two flat smelly pillows. The door didn't lock and the bathroom looks like a flashback to the fifties. Old, rusty, and gross. I'd rather sleep in my car. We ended up leaving after an hour.

They are completely refurbishing the hotel and I got a peak at one of the new rooms and it was a huge improvement. The neighborhood is good, safe, with restaurants, groceries, and a wonderful park nearby. Breakfast buffet was decent, stick with fruit for other meals, which were disappointing and expensive. Pool is a joke. Well priced.
