“Quite nice, and in a great setting.”

If you like well kept and clean site in a jungle atmosphere with wildlife murals on the walls, and a troop of monkeys playing in the trees while you't enjoying the pool, this is a unique place. The ten or so best rooms are air conditioned, across the road from the lobby and have their own small outdoor pool. One very large room is a suite with two king-size beds, couches, etc. Bathrooms aren't much, but they're clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. And it's owned by a couple involved in saving the monkeys, so you're supporting a good cause when staying there. Well worth the very reasonable cost.

“Family vacation”

My husband, I, and our three teenage children stayed at this location for three nights in December 2011. We had adjoining rooms across the street from the lobby. One room was equipped with a kitchenette, which was convenient for a quick breakfast before we headed to the beach or hiking. The rooms were not luxurious, but they were clean. We had a few meals at the restaurant and were not impressed. The food was average, but the prices were above average and they did not have everything listed on the menu. We didn’t have an opportunity to utilize the pools, as we were much more interested in the surf. The game room was a disappointment. Our family enjoys playing family games, but all the board games were missing pieces and/or were in a state of disrepair. There wasn’t even a full deck of cards.

“disappointing”

Our room was dark and damp and very small. The beds were uncomfortable and pillows lumpy. We had to ask for extra towels because nothing would dry and no beach towels were offered when asked. I wouldn't stay here again.

“Super friendly staff!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

We stayed in Mono Azul on a family gettway from the city!
The hotel is very cute with easy access to everything, the gardens are beautiful.
The staff make the place special, very friendly and attentive to ones needs.
It made a big difference considering we travel with a small child.
In the 4 days we stayed an excellent time, great meals and confortable rooms.
The visits to the parks in the area are a must and better to go early for the amount of tourism in the area!
