Our family (wife and I and our two young sons) enjoyed our six night stay at Albergue Alma de Hatillo, 6 km North of Dominical Costa Rica.
Sabina, the owner and host, make us feel welcome and at home our entire stay. Our room was clean, beds were comfortable, and the daily cleaning was thorough.
The included breakfasts were delicious, several fruits (starfruits, papaya, pineapple, watermelon, etc.), mango juice, milk for our boys, toast with homemade fruit jams and chocolate from the cacoa trees.
A highlight was a Christmas Eve dinner with other guests of fish, vegetables, rice topped with homemade fruit ice cream in a homestyle atmosphere.
Sabina, when asked, suggested local activities and drove other guests to the local river with her kayaks and offered to do the same for us. We enjoyed our day trip to Hacienda Baru, 3 km away, where we ziplined along the tropical forest trees and later walked through the trails and swam in the Ocean.
The road from Dominical to Quepos is bumpy, but is in the process of being paved.
