What a great adventure from the start. We drove to the Osa and the pot holes had to be seen to be believed. Although they are in the process of improving the roads.
We stayed in Casa Sunrisa- a house on stilts made of bamboo. Open air apart from the mossie net over the bed which makes it a little hotter but there are fans. Amazingly I did not see one mosquito although I did get a few bites.
To live in the middle of the jungle with all the wildlife surrounding you is quite an experience. The sounds at night are louder than the day time but they lull you to sleep. The howler monkey wake at 3 and 5 am regularly- sounding like they are inside the house but you soon learn to go to bed early and rise early to enjoy the mornings.
The beach is a 5 min walk with the kids. Don't expect a caribbean beach as it is rough and stoney. The water was as warm as a bath. We did experience jelly fish stings on 2 days out of 10 but they last just 20 minutes only.
