“Fantastic.”

We spotted this in Trip Advisor and it certaily lived up to its reputation. We were met at 1030 pm at San Jose airport by the manager and driven to the hotel arriving at half past midnight. Lovely large room with a great view and comfortable bed. Up next morning for a horse ride up the hills with well behaved horses who know the way there and back. They just turn around when you get off and go back home autmatically! You don't need any experience to ride them. The zip-lining was great fun and well supervised by really friendly helpful staff, with good attention to safety. It was fantastic whizzing through the forest down the river valley. We had a very nice breakfast and lunch at the hotel, where once again the staff were very friendly and helpful. You should definitely make this your first stay in Costa Rica.

“Wonderful Place to Stay!”

The people who work at the Adventure Park are really terrific. The room was great and the views wonderful. The tours for Zip lining over the Waterfall was the highlight of our trip. It was so nice staying there after our hard day of play.

The food was excellent and we loved the ambiance of the restaurant and hotel.

My 20 year old son and I went.

The staff were great, super fun lines. We didn't stay at the hotel, we were on a cruise.

“First Time Zip Lining - It Was A Blast”

My sister, myself and two other ladies vacationed in Costa Rica during New Year's holiday. We all agreed one of the adventures we would like to do during our vacation was zip lining. My sister did a lot of investigating and found Adventure Park and Hotel Vista Golfo had one of the best ratings not only as an adventure but for safety ratings.

Jesus picked us up at our hotel to take us to the Adventure Park. It was over an hour ride and during this time Jesus answered our questions about his country. His English was excellent, his humor wonderful and his patience unlimited with four crazy American women.

Jorge and Walter were the leads for the zip lining experience. They were wonderful and so were all the other men that were our guides. Three of the four of us had never zip lined before so we did not know what to expect. When I found out my padded glove was my brake, I turned to my sister and said "You have got to be sh... me?" Our group chose to be the last ones to go. Personally I preferred to watch other people take the plunge to make sure they made it, before I willingly jumped off a 50 foot ledge!

The trip we did was 25 zip lines. I have to admit, being a person who is a little nervous around heights, jumping off the platform the first time had my heart racing. I soon found out my padded glove was a very good brake and become more and more daring. After a few zip lines I met up with the rest of the group. We are all smiling and laughing, until we find out we had to repel down the next line. I do not think there was one of us whose knees were not shaking. This time being the last in line was not such a good thing because it allowed time for the fear to manifest. But you knew there was no other way down, so you had no choice. As I stood on the ledge ready to leap, I looked at my friend who was absolutely terrified and told her it was ok. And you know what, it was! Once you got the hang of it, the second time you had to repel was no big deal. In fact, I was sorry to see the last zip lining platform. I could have gone another 25 zip lines.

After all the zip lining was done, they picked us up in a bus and took us back to Adventure Park Hotel for lunch. Your choices were beef, chicken or fish. The food was delicious.

I would recommend this adventure and company to anyone who want to go zip lining!

“Great Staff, Packed Ziplines”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

This was the first stop on our Costa Rica vacation. We booked the Gold Package specifically for the zip lining, and were a little disappointed with the experience. The scenery was very nice in the forests and from the hotel, but the group they put us in for the zip line adventure was so large, it took much of the fun out of it. Each line was enjoyable, and the guides (led by Jorge) were friendly, helpful, and very competent. But why in the world did the management allow a group of over 30 people to go at once? About every five lines or so we had a long wait--sometimes as much as half an hour or longer just sitting on the platform waiting for the group to gather. There was nothing the guides could do about this, as they were working on getting everyone through. It really comes down to a management issue. We asked one of the staff if this size of group was typical, and he said it often is during the peak tourist season and he agreed that it really is too many.

We opted for the horseback ride to the beginning of the zip line adventure. It was a typical nose-to-butt trail ride on spiritless horses, and was really more of a pain than a pleasure. I would recommend that guests opt for the 4X4 to the starting point.

The restaurant was fine, the room was adequate, the views were wonderful, and we thought that the Gold Package (including the room, meals, and zip line adventure) was good value for money. Visitors should simply be aware, however, that a large crowd will substantially diminish the enjoyment of the zip lining. I don't know if the earlier adventure is more crowded than the later one, but there is no question that it would be a more enjoyable experience if the management would put a cap on the number who can go on any given adventure--even if this means doing multiple tours per day.

We had better horseback riding and zip lining experiences other places in Costa Rica, but this was not a bad place to start. And you couldn't ask for more friendly, helpful staff. They really were great.
