“Enchanting”

We recently went to Manuel Antonio on a girl's trip. I had made reservations at a couple other hotels, however I kept leaning back towards Issimo because of the reviews I had seen and because of the large balcony and private pool in the Royal Suite. Truthfully, you didn't even have to go out on the balcony to see things because of all the glass surrounding the suite, you could see everything from inside just fine. But it was nice every morning to go out and hear the animals, birds, and whatever other critters were out there. :) Now, lets talk about the service. Absolutely fantastic. The staff were so accommodating and helpful, always with a smile. The massages in the room were amazing, well lets just say, I would have done that everyday if there were not so many other things planned and waiting for me to see.

Every time we were out sightseeing or in our taxi and people would ask where we were staying and we told them "Issimo", they would always say that we made a very good choice and that it was one of the very best. Not that I needed confirmation that we had made a good choice but it was nice to hear that from the locals who hear from all of the tourists. I was completely satisfied and "enchanted." If my travels ever bring me back to the Manuel Antonio area, Issimo is where I will stay...... I just hope the Royal Suite will be available. :)

Thank you Issimo staff for a great time. You are the best!! Gracias por todo y "Pura Vida"

“Great view and suites....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Wow! I left yesterday and I miss this place like it was my home. The view took my breath away each time I look at the ocean, the monkeys... even coloful birds from the balcony in the Royal suite. I was a little sad that I did not see any birds at the Manuel Antonio Tour, but on my last morning two birds came to visit the trees near my balcony, simply AMAZING! I love the breakfast and the people; so friendly. The private pool was so clean along with everything else. We had few things that needed service; the staff was there to fix it within seconds. I love it there and would come back in a hard bit!!! I strongly recommend this place. Don't forget to walk to the beach that is located within walking distance (5 minutes). This beach is one of the best I have seen becuase it is quiet and espectacular; you can rent equipment to go snorkeling :)

“We shout to the world...but want to keep it our own secret!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

We visited ISSIMO Suites for the second time for the last few days of January & the first few of Feb. Our first visit was during the green season in 2008. We came back to celebrate 24 years of marriage and to go sailfishing specifically. Our 2nd visit even surpassed our first. The management and staff are absolutely wonderful. The food is excellent. Our maitre'd "Dixon" set a very private and romatic table for our anniversary dinner, which was amazing. The chef, "David" offered us an entree of whole red snapper grilled and seasoned to perfection. Every meal at Issimo is a delight! Each morning we were greeted by Maria and Miss Wilma. The hotel is immaculate and absolutely beautiful....a relaxing haven. We saw many, many monkeys, butterflys, birds and plenty of wildlife from our room, balcony and main floor of the hotel. The pool area is great. Be sure to swim under the deck and check out the view at the far end! The entire staff is extremely accommodating and personable. We will return again and again. The owner hangs out from time to time, and he's a pretty cool guy too. The front desk staff and managers are superb and they strive to meet your every anticipation and need. (I apologize I can't remember all their names...or spell but here goes....Madrea, Ivanya, Elizabeth, etc...) The housekeeping staff are wonderful. The spa is lovely and reasonable too! We can't say enough! So, what are you waiting for??? Just do it!!! Fly into San Jose. Then either have the hotel arrange transportation, which is a very scenic drive that takes a couple hours, or fly straight to Quepos on SANSA airlines, and you're minutes from the hotel. The hotel is great for couples or families with late teen or adult children. It's quiet and serene.....~ Lori & Steve - Ocean City, MD

“Wonderful Place, Great Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We spent 3 nights here after a week in Arenal and Monteverde. It was so great to be at the beach in Manuel Antonio and the accommodations were perfect. Although the hotel is promoted for honeymooners, we have been married for 29 years and our twin 24-year old children joined us on this family vacation. They also had a beautiful room with two beds so it was ideal. The staff could do not enough for us, including the bartender, who made us very happy during 'happy hour' from 5-7 every day. And the owner is always around, which says a lot.

“A small get-away complete with monkeys!”

The Issimo is a great little boutique hotel in Manuel Antonio. The rooms are spacious and very Costa Rican. It is very clean and well kept, and the staff is excellent. They will go out of their way to make sure you have a good experience in their hotel. They are so helpful with everything. The hotel is about 2k from the main road, down a hill. The closest beach access in difficult, but there is a large beach a short cab ride away. The food at the hotel is very good, and breakfast is included in the room price. You have a menu choice for breakfast that is great. And, you can have a meal with monkeys! They are all around the hotel in the forest, and it was a terrific treat when they came up on the patio face-to-face! We also got massages at the little spa, and it was very good. All in all a good find.

Room Tip: Many rooms have a great view. Don't go with 110.
