I would not recommend this place to anyone. I only stayed here because everything else was booked in Manuel Antonio. The rooms are a mess the staff needs improvement. There are so many other places in this area to visit that are much nicer. Save your money and go someplace else.

Villa Bosque has a great location, close to the national park and beaches. Hotel exterior was lovely, but my room was extremely small, first batch of towels were ready for the rag bin, mattress and pillows old and worn, staff friendly but never went out of their way to help - no one cared to carry my luggage to my upstairs room, after finding no hot water in the shower my second day, manager assured me it would be taken care of, by mid-afternoon nothing had been done, and the manager went as far as to question me if in fact I still had no hot water. No offer of moving to another room, despite the hotel being half-empty, but fortunately by evening hot water had been restored. Someone on staff had turned off the entire hot water for my wing of the hotel, as unfortunately I was the only guest in that wing, my complaint wasn't worth resolving with any speed.

I would have accepted the run-down room and lack of service if I weren't paying 4 star off-season rates.

The good = If you want to walk to the park or the beach this is your place. The monkeys play in the trees on the hotel grounds every evening & there are plenty of restaurants and souvenier shops in the area as well. The staff is very helpful.

The bad = The first night one of the beds had dirty sheets, the lights were missing bulbs, & no shampoo is supplied. We also refused the first room because it smelled like smoke.

We had a nice stay but If you're accustomed to 4 or 5 star hotels you will not enjoy yourself here.
