“Great location, helpful and friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

we arrived the third week in january, mid-week. the greeting was cordial with fresh, cold juice drinks and cool, wet towels at the reception desk. we asked about an upgrade and for $90 a night more we got one of the nicest suites they have. we were in the vista suites on the fifth floor. great room. very large with separate toilet and shower area and tub. huge king bed, flat panel tv, couch, dining table and a wet bar area finish out the interior. the balcony has a hot tub and table and chairs and a spectacular view.

there is a pool located with bar/restaurant within the vista suites area that we used the entire time we stayed (6 nights). it has about a dozen loungers around with umbrellas. there weren't so many people staying when we were there so it was easy to get loungers. i suspect the area would get crowded quickly. the pool is really nice and has a waterfall and infinity edges with killer views of the ocean. we spent a good amount of time here and it was very relaxing. diego makes a mean piña colada.

the hotel's grounds are beautiful and well maintained. monkeys were in the trees and raccoons and gekkos were lurking around. they have three pools, one in the vista suites area, one adult only pool halfway between the suites and the main building and the main pool next to the bar, restaurant and lobby.

the restaurant (there are several i think-only seemed one was open when we were there-next to the don juan bar) is a pretty, comfortable and the food isn't worth your money or time. to be honest we only ate there twice-first night dinner and third day quick lunch so we obviously didn't do an exhaustive test drive. but dinner and dinner service was bad on the first dinner so why bother. we did find have one redeeming find though. we ordered sushi as an app the first dinner and it was fresh and tasty. we had some more for lunch and it was good too. so get the sushi and leave dinner to other places.

we used iguana tours for our transfers to the airport and tours on the catamaran, mangrove tour and manuel antonio park tours. dennis was great, adrian too. recommend you use these guys.

Bottom line is we'd go back here in a minute. Great location, clean rooms and grounds. Great, friendly staff.

Room Tip: upgrade if you have a ground floor room-get a view.

Well, what can we say in response to such a stellar review? We’ll start with a heart-felt Thank You! We are always delighted to hear of our guests positive experiences at Parador and are grateful that you’ve taken time out of your busy schedule to share your thoughts and observations with us – and the world. We regret, however, that you were not fully satisfied with our current dinner menus. We do change them up periodically to keep our offerings new and exciting so hopefully next time you will find them more to your liking.
Come back soon! It will be our pleasure to serve you again

I hvae to say, my years of traveling to Quepos just got better. This is the most hospitable hotel I have stayed in in my 15 years of traveling to Quepos. I had always stayed at the Mariposa but I have found a better hotel. Worth every cent to stay here. Gerardo at the pool bar was one of the most friendliest staff there. 2 thumbs waaay up!

The hotel was beautiful with a great pool and nice outside dining option. Woke up to howler monkeys on our last day. I would recommend this hotel, nice rooms, nice breakfast buffet. Very friendly staff more than willing to go out of their way to make our stay relaxing.

Wow, thank you for sharing your wonderful words about our slice of paradise! We opened the suites almost three years ago and indeed everyone loves them. They do have spectacular views, great amenities and a natural clock alarm: the howler monkeys! Regarding our staff… we agree: they are simply the best! Hope you visit our country and our people again

What an amazing place! We stayed at the Parador while filming an American television show in Costa Rica and had the opportunity not only to stay as guests but have a complete tour as well. The views from some of the rooms were absolutely breathtaking, while the pool and jungle hiking trails added a layer of fun to the entire experience. Plus the open, Caribbean feel of the resort made you feel like you were in a tropical paradise.

This is a fantastic hotel perched on the cliff overlooking the Pacific at Manuel Antonio National Park. It's beautifully appointed, family friendly, extremely clean, and re along. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The pools are great and the food is excellent. Each room has a balcony, many with ocean views.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with an expansive ocean view, you won't be disappointed.
