From the moment I arrived at Aparthotel Vista Pacifico, hosts Juliana and James made me feel at home. They had written and asked if I wanted anything stocked in my fridge prior to my arrival. There was a chilled bottle of wine and snacks waiting for me.
This is truly the kind of intimate setting where you can let go of all your worldly cares and rejuvenate. The other guests felt the same way. Even though there are all kinds of activities and incredible places to see in the surrounding area, many of us had a difficult time leaving the hotel grounds, because of the welcoming atmosphere.
The hotel is spotless and very well maintained, and the rooms are generous. The grounds and the view are breathtaking.
Juliana and James provided excellent suggestions for day trips, or places to eat. They have also created the kind of place where you get to know your fellow travellers. We talked about our plans for the day over a lovely breakfast of fresh tropical fruits and other goodies in the covered outdoor patio. At night, many of us would meet there again for drinks and share our experiences.
I often travel alone, but I didn't feel alone. I went on day trips with people I met at the hotel. Manuel Antonio National Park is the place to see monkeys and other wildlife. I toured the park with a man and his son from Altanta, who were staying at the hotel. We hired a guide who pointed out all kinds of tiny creatures we would have missed on our own. We watched a once in a lifetime sunset over the Pacific, from the Restaurant El Avion. Juliana and James suggested the restaurant, which is built around an old war plane.
I can’t wait to go back, and bring some friends with me.
