This was a great place to stay while in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica. The bungalow we stayed in was so cute, clean, comfortable. We were surrounded by lush tropical plants/flowers. Every porch has a hammock and a table/chairs. Rooms have a safe should you need it. Just a quick walk to the main building which houses the restaurant. Breakfasts were delicious, plentiful and with made to order eggs. Computers are available for use. And a rare find - a phone to make international calls home. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and genuinely enjoy helping their guests. The owner was also very friendly and helpful I feel they all went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable - we really felt at home here. And don't forget a beautiful beach just across the street! Paradise for sure!

This place is amazing. We stayed here for 2 nights and ended up going back for 3 more. We initially stayed in the budget cabin which was nice and then on our second stay we got a bungalow (amazing). You are literally in the "jungle" (not really but it feels like it), the staff is amazing, the breakfast (free) is out of this world and even the restaurant makes good food (for purchase). The hotel is across from the beach and they have bike rentals so you can ride into town or use to go just about anywhere. I highly recommend this place.

Stayed here in Dec 2012, caught the end of the rainy season but had a great time regardless. The bungalows are very nicely designed inside and out. Every night we checked on the frog pond and usually weren't disappointed, ideal if you're after some nice frog shots. One day a sloth climbed down its tree right next to our bungalow. Hummingbirds, lizards and sloths are pretty much guaranteed.
Across the road you step onto Playa Cocles, a beautiful beach, but mind the rip currents that can be quite strong here at times.
La Costa de Papito's restaurant is convenient with a good choice of dishes and smiley Minerva made our stay there very enjoyable.
We would certainly stay here again and probably will, since the Puerto Viejo Talamanca region of Costa Rica is a very pleasant mix of beaches, wildlife and Caribbean atmosphere, all of which makes for a great holiday.

This was one of the most amazing places we have ever been. There was a group of 10 of us we stayed in bungalows for about 10 day and had the best time. The staff was amazing and willing to do anything to help and make your stay great. We would play cards at night on the bungalow decks, drink at bar, or eat dinner and listen to the live music. The breakfast was to die FOR!!! The beach was right across the street and the front desk is willing to help you set up any excursion you want to do... Def go to PANAMA FOR THE DAY ! I PROMISE SO WORTH IT! We are all outdoor lovers and enjoyed every moment of this trip. The food is amazing - at the hotel and in all restaurants around!!!
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys outdoors and wants a change from a "regular" hotel. There are wild animals in the middle of the night and we def had bugs in the bungalows. I would also not recommend going in the summer time if you cannot stand the heat. We were lucky enough to go in the end/ beginning of rainy season so the rain at night would bring an amazing breeze. My biggest downfall was def seeing cockroaches but again you are outside so it’s hard to not have them. ALSO IF YOU ARE FLYING IN SAN JOSE IT IS A 3-4 HOUR DRIVE AT LEAST!! We had no idea and were like omg what did we get ourselves into. But it was so worth it cause its not a typical tourist place you got to see and be apart of something so beautiful that not everyone gets to see. Prices are not cheap – it is geared to tourist so expect to pay what you pay at home for food but the food is amazing. Also tipping is weird out there they charge you 2 taxes many say one is the tip tax…. OH and last def make a trip to the Jaguar rescue center – life changing!!
