I showed up here without a reservation. $68 per night with breakfast for the so-called junior suite. The room was big, but currently unfinished and equipped with three single beds. The staff said we could move to another room, and indeed, these rooms were very nice and met American standards, but the view from the suite was just too great to give up; we had the entire ocean in front of us, with the waves crashing on the rock below. The previous reviewer complained about the noise from the disco; in our room the loudest thing at night was the chorus of frogs.
The restaurant is really quite good, especially if you are tired of a diet of gallo pinto. They have really good fish and seafood here for very reasonable prices. They could lower the volume on the dinner music - with a beatiful view from the dining room onto the ocean, it`s really not necessary.
There`s a lovely beach - playa bonita - which can be reached - after navigating a few rocks - in around one minute on foot. The beach is very clean, sand and water, and perfectly suitable for swimming.
You can get off the Peurto Limon - Moin bus right outside the hotel. It is around 4km from Peurto Limon. Buses go by every half hour (on :10 and :40)
An American working at the hotel - really nice guy - organized a kayaking tour for us in the creeks north of Moin. It was a great and affordable and eco-friendly way to see wildlife (iguanas, monkeys, birds) in a beautiful setting. Hi Lenny, and thanks a lot!
I`d go to this hotel if ever I was in the area again.
