I stayed with Brigitte in one of her cabins for ten days over Christmas. She has been in Cahuita for many years so is a perfect contact for activities in the area. She was kind enough to meet us at the bus which was very welcoming! Cahuita is a lovely place to visit, very small and close to nature. If you stay with her you'll wake up to the sounds of the sea and jungle and a yummy breakfast. The dogs and cats on the property are lovely little things and made the stay very homey. Cabins were cleaned every day, fresh towels, and anything extra we needed was no trouble at all for the staff. I would highly recommend this place for a super chilled out break. Also, Playa Negra is just across the road so you can have a nice swim in the sea before breakfast and maybe some surf lessons in the afternoon. Her sister also does laundry services and rents bikes and boogie boards. In the evening there are two bars/restaurants very nearby also. Thanks for a lovely stay Brigitte! Will be back again!

A great place: we didn't stay here but were riding and mingling there a few days. Brigitte and her staff were so friendly and helpful, and they organized very variable and interesting riding tours with nice horses. The bungalows seemed really nice and cozy, and the beach is right there. Very relaxed and comfortable place with good coffee! This is not a place for people searching for luxury and 5-star hotels, but neither is the area. This is for travellers who want to see real life and real people and animals, and feel the atmosphere! We saw an iguana on a tree.

I would really recommend this hostel. It is beautiful, with trees and flowers and brightly coloured cabins with pretty hammocks. The rooms are clean and fresh and I did not see a single cockroach or bug inside, so was very happy! It is a very short walk from the beach and is lovely and tranquil. Brigitte is very friendly and there is plenty to do like bike and horse riding. Overall a great place to stay!

Well no security windows just curtains, Roaches, Mosquitos, To far from the main town, Have to walk about a mile to find food, Island to poor to visit, The Lady from the hostile was not pleasant and not inviting,The street road to walk on was just full of rocks, my feet hurt, Nothing much to visit in this Island, walked all around town, nothing interesting,. Also, breakfast in this hostel is not free, they charge for everything,..The Wi-fi service here not good reception,I would not really recommend to visit this place or even this hostile for real..Don't waste your time or money. It's a very hot place and it don't rain most of the plants there are dry and sad to see,But I do recommend a place call Smith's Hostels is more comftable and more availability but no breakfast there, you cook your own but you are just feets away from the main area of the town,.. Me and my partner are not coming back to this Hostel at Brigettes or even Cahuita, It's just a one day maybe two day visit. Another thing there is no TV available in the rooms....Or even in the visiting area in the hostile,. Just over look this place.. It's a waste of money.... the town is poor business and poor area, it's sad. Well good luck !!!!!!
